Copycat Recipes: Fazoli's Breadsticks
Ingredients:
Prepackaged breadsticks
Whirl or butter
garlic, salt or just garlic salt
Directions:
Buy the prepackaged bake and serve breadsticks that you find in the bakery section.
Apparently Fazoli's doesn't make their own breadsticks either.
Use a liquid butter substitute called whirl.or melt your own butter.
Once breadsticks are baked, slather them GOOD with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic and salt or just garlic salt.
And that's it. I know it sounds dumb.

i worked at fazolis and no they dont make them they come in a box. they make the butter though.
ReplyDeleteI worked for them too when they had a franchise in Martinsburg, WV when I was a college student in the mid-90s. Yeah, they didn't make their own, but I don't recall us making the butter either.. It just came in HUGE white buckets and it would have to be stirred up really well because the garlic would sink to the bottom. However, the directions up there are backward.. We'd butter the fudge out of them BEFORE they went into the oven, not after. The breadsticks would be nearly swimming in that garlic butter.. lol.
DeleteI am shocked though that no one has mentioned the Breakfast Breadsticks and Pizza that were never on the menu, but if you were "in the know" you could get them.. When I worked for Frazoli's they opened at 8am as well.. Seems most of them are opening at 10am these days.
DeleteCould you possibly do a recipe for the meat sauce from Fazolis?

ReplyDeleteThe breadsticks must be baked with the butter? How else do those delicious, butter encrusted bottoms occur?

ReplyDeleteSorry to bring this back from the dead. I have a recipe for the garlic butter. To make one package of 14 breadsticks on a half sheet pan 7 on each side of the pan. Melt 6 Tablespoons Butter in a bowl. Add 1 Tablespoon cold water, 1.5 teaspoons granulated garlic, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and vigorously whisk in 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil and combine. Spread evenly over both rows of breadsticks and brush evenly across the tops. Bake at 425 for 5-8 min until starting to turn brown on top. They are better if you leave them to cool for 10 minutes or so in the pan and they will let the excess butter really soak in. I worked a Fazoli's for 5 years 20 years ago. This is my best copycat that I have been using for about 10 years and took about 10 years to perfect. In the Midwest you can get Shullsburg Creamery Plain Breadsticks which work very well for this recipe. If you could buy Whirl butter sauce at the consumer level size that would be the best, but I cannot get it in less than a gallon jug. Fazoli's gets it in by the 40 pound/5gallon jug.
ReplyDeleteI can get you actual Fazolis breadsticks to cook at home and Outback bread!
