These are some photos of an early model of Cars Land from May of 2008. This model was shown at an event that used to held at The Walt Disney Studios called Imagineering Week. It was a week long event where the Imagineers would showcase what was being planned for the coming year or years out into the future. Sadly the event is no longer being held.
As you can see Cars Land has remained largely unchanged from this model. The most striking feature that isn't in the actual Cars Land is the movie theater to the upper left of the above photo.
The main entrance into Cars Land is largely unchanged. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree grew in size with two sides instead of the one shown here.
Here is a close up of the movie theater. But instead of showing movies, it would also be the home of a diner similar to the Sci-Fi Diner at the Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida. This was a last minute cancellation and maybe will still see the light of day one day.
