Rumor Patrol: First Floor of Innoventions to become Disneyland 60th Exhibit?

The latest rumor is that the bottom floor of the Innoventions building in Tomorrowland will close and become an exhibit to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Disneyland. This conceptual art is from an idea from the 50th that never happened. I do not know the source of this artwork. I wonder if this is what the 60th exhibit will look like?

From the concept art, it looks like a fun tribute to the history of the park. It shows that the area is laid out like the park and there are tributes to each of the lands.

Lots of artwork and props appear to be on display.

This will be a great look into the past.

I'm not sure where this last piece of concept art is from. I don't know if this is for another venue that the exhibit could go or if it's the entrance into the exhibit. At any rate I would love to see an exhibit on the history of the park.

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 1964 New York World's Fair in Disneyland! Part Three - Progressland

So far we have seen dinosaurs and Walt's Mr. Lincoln, now we are off to a spinning building that was a showcase for progress. Hmmm the Guide Book and the actual building seem to differ once again. Let's head inside and see what kind of tributes we can find.

Tribute to Monsanto's House of The Future.

There is a tribute to the World clock that was once the Tomorrowland entrance icon.

Probably one of my favorite tributes inside the building, this one to America Sings, with Sam the Eagle and the unnamed owl who was known as Ollie in some circles.

The only tribute I could find to the 1964 New York World's Fair.

The only part of the General Electric's Progressland to make it to Disneyland was the Carousel of Progress, which became America Sings and is now currently home to Innoventions.

The Disney Legends that signed this book are as follows, starting at the top:

Robert Henry (Bob) Gurr - designer who worked on all four Disney produced World's Fair shows including working on the ride systems for both Small World and Ford's Magic Skyway as well as the internal mechanisms for the Lincoln figure

Richard Sherman - songwriter who along with his brother Robert wrote the iconic song "it's a small world" but also my personal favorite, "It's A Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow" for the Carousel of Progress which was part of Progressland

Rolly Crump - best known for creating the stunning Tower of The Four Winds in front of the "it's a small world" at the World's Fair but was the designer for Ford's Magic Skyway and also the art director for it's a small world

Alice Davis - costume designer who created all the costumes for the figures for "it's a small world."

Blaine Gibson - sculpted all four shows including his most famous creation, Abraham Lincoln for the Illinois Pavilion.

Marty Sklar - writer of concepts, narrations and publications for the Ford, G.E. and Small World shows.

Now we are off to the most famous of the four shows that Disney created for the 1964 New York World's Fair. The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed...

Disneyland Trip Report - Random HDR Photos

Welcome to another Disneyland photo report. This time just having some fun and taking HDR photos in the park.

The Mark 1 armor inside of Innoventions at the Iron Man Tech exhibit. It still looks like it can dish out a good thrashing.

The Moonliner rocket looks like it can take off at any moment.

Space Mountain is ready for you.

The castle looms over the rocks of Tomorrowland.

The Astro-Orbitor reaches towards the sky.

The sky is taking a turn for the worse as we approach the castle.

The Tangled Tower, the castle and the Matterhorn just about all lined up as more clouds roll in.

Looks like it may be time to go and find shelter.

Time to quickly head into Adventureland before the clouds say it is time to leave.

Captain America: The Living Legend & Symbol of Courage Preview at Disneyland!

Take a look at the Captain America Meet and Greet opening at Innoventions in Disneyland on Friday March 7th!

Bringing the third Marvel character to Innoventions is a no-brainer with the Captain America sequel opening next month!

Words to describe the legend!

Check out the various prototype shields as well as the actual Captain America shield. These were all designed by Howard Stark!

As you can see I am the same size as pre-serum Steve Rogers!

Thor: Treasure of Asgard Preview!

Come with me and take a look at the latest Marvel addition to the Innoventions building in Tomorrowland at Disneyland! Let's take a sneak peek at Thor: Treasures of Asgard!

A collection of weapons greet you as you wait to see more treasures from Asgard and then take the Bifrost to Asgard for an audience with Thor himself!

We are now entering a small chamber with a few more items from Asgard. Then with an introduction to what is about to happen next from a Cast Member and words from Odin, the king of Asgard himself, we are whisked across the Bifrost to Asgard!

Once we have arrived via Bifrost to Asgard, the mighty doors open to reveal Thor himself as he welcomes us to Asgard!

Thor introduces us to Mjolnir and asks if anyone of us believe we can lift it. What happens next? Well, you just have to come and visit to see for yourself! Then Thor is kind enough to pose for photos with each of us in the audience!

Disneyland Resort Trip: Iron Man Tech, Spring Time, Cars Land and Food!

I went to The Disneyland Resort on Saturday to check out the new Iron Man Tech exhibit at Innoventions. Innoventions never had a line like this!

 Here I am getting ready to 'suit up' and take the new Mark 42 armor for a test drive!

Then I headed into the Star Trader to make my own droids at the Droid Factory!

Build Your Own Star Wars Droids! 

 The Princess Fantasy Faire is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to take photos in the park!

 For such a small space there are so many options of contrasting colors and angles to take photos of.

 Be quiet bird! Figaro is trying to take a cat nap!

 I just love how the Fantasy Faire looks like an extension of the castle that has always been here.

 I love the attention to detail here. Just look at how ornate this lamp is.

 Even the roses are perfect!

 I think every visit to Disneyland requires at least one photo of the castle!

 Even though it is an overcast day. it still feels like spring!

I love this shot of The Partners statue. It came out so well! 

Jumping across the way into Disney California Adventure! The subtle signs of spring can be felt here as well!

 Lightning came on through Route 66 to say hi!

Cars Land has been my favorite place to take photo since the first time I stepped foot inside the land! It seems almost impossible to take a bad photo here!

 Just another pretty day in Radiator Springs!

 My favorite view of Radiator Springs! It doesn't get much better than this!

It was time to fuel up! Off to Flo's for my favorite, pork lion and Coca-Cola BBQ sauce with radiator pasta salad and cole slaw! So delicious and filling!

 But there is always room for an apple-cheddar pie! One of the best around!
