The Irvine Co. is set to open a luxury theater at Fashion Island this Friday. Tickets cost $16.50 for adults, and $13.50 for children and senior citizens. For the higher cost, one gets larger reclining leather seats and higher quality food, beer and wine. The largest theater offers 115 seats; the smallest theater has 65 seats. Each movie house has a 35-foot wide screen. Seats can be reserved at the box office, or online via Fandango.
Food, wine and beer will be sold at the concession stand. But unlike other upscale movie theaters, the food here will be "grab and go" only. Servers will not take orders from your seat. The menu will have pizzas, baked dishes, panini sandwiches, soups, espresso drinks, hummus and pita chips and premium ice cream. The bar menu includes 26 different options for red and white wine, sparkling wine and champagne. Beer options include Guinness, Amstel Light, Heineken, Becks, Fat Tire, O'Doul's, Anchor Steam, Sam Adams, Bass Ale, Stella Artois, Dale's Pale Ale.

The luxury theater features Italianate architecture, a dining area with granite countertops and reclining leather seats with 54 inches of leg room. It debuts Friday, Dec. 16, at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
