OC Restaurant Week 2013! Sasaki Time's Picks!

One of my favorite week's of the year is here! OC Restaurant Week is back from February 24th until March 2nd! It's time to get out of the kitchen and head out to try a new restaurant or two! Or even go back to revisit an old favorite! And there doesn't need to be any reason to go out and celebrate at any of these fantastic restaurants!

There are 100 of the top restaurants in Orange County to choose from! The prix fixe menus are priced at $10, $15 and $20 per person for lunch, and $20, $30 or $40 per person for dinner!

The most difficult thing here is deciding which restaurant to go to! So, I will try to help you out by giving you my favorite picks for the week. Please keep in mind that the majority of them are all places I have not been to yet. Even I am taking advantage of OC Restaurant Week to try some new places!

Brunos Trattoria - I have not gone here before but I love Italian food and my usual dining companion is a huge fan of pasta. They are offering a three course dinner for $30 plus a glass of wine. I would go with the cozze as my appetizer because I love mussels! For my entree I might stick with the seafood theme and go with the salmon. And then we reach dessert which I have no preference because they all sound amazing!

Chapter One: the modern local - One of my favorite places and I hope it will become one of yours as well! Once OC Restaurant Week is over you have to go to their Sinatra Sunday Brunch! But before I get carried away, here is what I would choose for dinner. Dinner is $30 and comes with one of their famous Moscow Mules! You select from one of three appetizers. I would go with the escargot! There are four entrees to choose from and I would go with the seafood ettouffee. I can taste the amazing seafood and spicy Cajun spices right now! And for dessert you get one of their housemade donuts!

Div Bar - Another restaurant I haven't been to yet but have been wanting to try. I want to go for dinenr which is $20 for three courses! The starter is a sampler of some of their most popular items of their famous fries, ahi tuna tartar and buttermilk calamari. For the entree the smoked meat combination of brisket and ribs. For dessert you get one of their cast iron kookies. Sounds like a great meal and a lot of food!

Quinn's Old Town Grill - I haven't gone here before but their menu looks too good to pass up! Their lunch offering is $15 for a starter, an entree and dessert! The starter is a chilled shrimp platter for the table and I am a big fan of seafood! For dinner, the cost goes up to $20 for three courses. The starter gets the addition of oysters so that has me sold!

Slater's 50/50 - You can't go wrong with $15 for a non-alcoholic beverage, a choice of an appetizer and a choice of either one of their salads, burgers or sandwiches. You can't miss their fries with their bacon ketchup! I'd also go with the Big Patty Melt featuring a 2/3 pound patty! Now that is a meal!
