On Dec. 5, 2012, just before a media preview and party for the New Fantasyland grand opening, Disney Parks & Resorts chairman Tom Staggs gave a welcome presentation which included a look ahead to 2014 at the Seven Dwarfs MIne Train coaster, still under construction at the Magic Kingdom. This video shows a virtual ride on most of the attraction, though Disney left some surprises hidden.

On Dec. 5, 2012, during the media party celebrating the opening of New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World debuted a flying dragon high overhead, flapping its wings, moving its head and tail, and even splitting fire.

In Gary's quest to find the Disney Dragon, he was tipped off by a friendly anonymous(e) source to go to an "Enchanted Forest" and wait for magic to happen. Time-Lapse Video: Watch Two New Castles and a Disney Mountain Emerge in New Fantasyland

Here's a fun new look at New Fantasyland, courtesy of our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering. For reference, the area on the left is occupied by Enchanted Tales With Belle, Beast Castle (which houses Be Our Guest Restaurant), and Belle's Village, which includes Gaston's Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts. The rockwork on the right becomes Prince Eric's Castle, which houses Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid and Ariel's Grotto character greeting. Toward the end of the video, framework for the Seven Dwarf Mine Train, which brings a whole new "Disney Mountain" to the park, rises up in the center.

Enchanted Tales With Belle, in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park, will be no ordinary character greeting experience. Today, we're excited to share more details about this special experience. As you'll see from this video -- provided by Walt Disney Imagineering -- the goal of this attraction is not just to give you a place to meet a Disney character, but to completely transport you into the world of "Beauty and The Beast."

New Concept Art: Belle's Village

• The castle of the Beast stands majestically upon a hill and houses the Be Our Guest Restaurant (reservations open at noon on August 20), which will feature a lavish dining experience in the elegant ballroom, gallery and mysterious "West Wing" of the castle. With seating for 550, this eatery promises a French bistro flavor, offering "great food fast" service by day and full table service dining in the evening.
• Maurice's Cottage (decorated with a few of his wacky contraptions!) is situated in Belle's Village amongst a French countryside setting complete with a wishing well and rustic foot bridge. The inventor's humble workshop welcomes you into the first scene of Enchanted Tales with Belle, a lively retelling of the "tale as old as time."
• Nearby in Belle's Village, find the rousing Gaston's Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts.

New Concept Art: Under the Sea -Journey of the Little Mermaid

Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid is a major new attraction that takes you on a ride with Ariel and her friends through their exciting adventures above and below the waves – all against a musical backdrop of songs from the classic film.

Previews starting November 19, 2012. Grand Opening will be on December 6, 2012.

New Fantasyland Grand Opening Set For December 6 at Magic Kingdom Park!

The grand opening of New Fantasyland will take place on December 6, 2012. Attractions included in this opening are Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Ariel’s Grotto, Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts.

Previews of these attractions will begin November 19.

As previously planned, the New Fantasyland expansion will continue with the opening of Princess Fairytale Hall in 2013 and the debut of a new Disney “mountain” in the form of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in 2014.

The Storybook Circus section of the New Fantasyland expansion, which includes Barnstormer – Starring the Great Goofini, the Casey Jr. Splash & Soak Station, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant, opened to guests in July.
