On Dec. 5, 2012, just before a media preview and party for the New Fantasyland grand opening, Disney Parks & Resorts chairman Tom Staggs gave a welcome presentation which included a look ahead to 2014 at the Seven Dwarfs MIne Train coaster, still under construction at the Magic Kingdom. This video shows a virtual ride on most of the attraction, though Disney left some surprises hidden.

On Dec. 5, 2012, during the media party celebrating the opening of New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World debuted a flying dragon high overhead, flapping its wings, moving its head and tail, and even splitting fire.

In Gary's quest to find the Disney Dragon, he was tipped off by a friendly anonymous(e) source to go to an "Enchanted Forest" and wait for magic to happen. This was recorded during a cast member preview. Regular guest previews of New Fantasyland are set to start on Nov. 19 and the grand opening is Dec. 6, 2012.

First Look: Lumiere, Madame Wardrobe Welcome You to Enchanted Tales with Belle at Magic Kingdom

Take a first look at some of the play testing happening with the Enchanted Tales with Belle attraction for the New Fantasyland at The Magic Kingdom! Beauty and The Beast is my favorite Disney Animated Movie and this looks amazing!

New Concept Art: Belle's Village

• The castle of the Beast stands majestically upon a hill and houses the Be Our Guest Restaurant (reservations open at noon on August 20), which will feature a lavish dining experience in the elegant ballroom, gallery and mysterious "West Wing" of the castle. With seating for 550, this eatery promises a French bistro flavor, offering "great food fast" service by day and full table service dining in the evening.
• Maurice's Cottage (decorated with a few of his wacky contraptions!) is situated in Belle's Village amongst a French countryside setting complete with a wishing well and rustic foot bridge. The inventor's humble workshop welcomes you into the first scene of Enchanted Tales with Belle, a lively retelling of the "tale as old as time."
• Nearby in Belle's Village, find the rousing Gaston's Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts.

New Concept Art: Under the Sea -Journey of the Little Mermaid

Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid is a major new attraction that takes you on a ride with Ariel and her friends through their exciting adventures above and below the waves – all against a musical backdrop of songs from the classic film.

New Fantasyland Grand Opening Set For December 6 at Magic Kingdom Park!

The grand opening of New Fantasyland will take place on December 6, 2012. Attractions included in this opening are Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Ariel’s Grotto, Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts.

Previews of these attractions will begin November 19.

As previously planned, the New Fantasyland expansion will continue with the opening of Princess Fairytale Hall in 2013 and the debut of a new Disney “mountain” in the form of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in 2014.

The Storybook Circus section of the New Fantasyland expansion, which includes Barnstormer – Starring the Great Goofini, the Casey Jr. Splash & Soak Station, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant, opened to guests in July.

Storybook Circus walkthrough in the new Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom

Take a general stroll through the first part of the brand new Storybook Circus area in the new Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. This was taken during the first soft opening on March 12, 2012. Rides open include Barnstormer starring the Great Goofini, one half of the Dumbo ride and the Fantasyland train station.

In this video, provided by WDI, Senior Concept Designer Ted Robledo presents our very first sneak peek inside this highly anticipated restaurant. Imagineers recently put the finishing touches on one of its major elements: a massive mural that will serve as the restaurant's backdrop. Here, Ted shows how WDI combined digital technology with traditional artistry to create a sweeping landscape that gives guests the feeling that they really are walking into a part of the film.
