Kid Friendly Cooking: Greek Fruit Salad Recipe!

Servings: 4
 
Ingredients: 
 
4 cups mixed fresh fruit, cut into chunks (grapes, melon, oranges, peaches, berries)
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1 cup plain yogurt
3 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 tablespoons grated lemon rind

Directions:

1 In serving bowl, gently stir fruit and almonds together; set aside.
 
2 In a separate bowl combine yogurt, honey, and lemon rind.
 
3 Fill individual dessert bowls with fruit salad. Spoon yogurt mixture over fruit salad, and sprinkle the top with additional almond slivers (optional).
 

Kid Friendly Cooking: Brown Sugar Bacon Recipe!

Servings: 4 - 6
Ingredients:

1 lb thick sliced bacon
1/2 cup brown sugar

Directions:

1 Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and preheat oven to 425.
2 Lay bacon on paper and sprinkle with sugar.
3 Bake 10 minutes then drain fat from pan (carefully!).
4 Bake 5 to 10 minutes more, until it's as crisp as you like.

Kid Friendly Cooking: Banana Bread Oatmeal Recipe!

 
Servings: 1
 
Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups water
1/8 teaspoon table salt
3/4 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
1 small banana, mashed
2 packets Splenda sugar substitute
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar-free maple syrup

Directions:

1 Bring water and salt to a rapid boil in a sauce pan.
 
2 Add oatmeal and bring back to a boil.
 
3 Add banana, spice, Splenda.
 
4 Turn down to medium and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often.
 
5 Remove pan from heat, stir in maple syrup, cover and let sit about 3 minutes.
 
6 Serve in a bowl with milk (if desired).

Kid Friendly Cooking: A Breakfast Yogurt Parfait (Granola) Recipe!

 
Servings: 1
 
Ingredients:

8 ounces vanilla yogurt, divided (or other flavors)
1 cup granola cereal, divided (I prefer homemade)
mixed fruit (optional)

Directions:

Place 1/3 cup of granola in a parfait glass. Top with half of the yogurt.

Repeat layers.

Top with remaining granola.

Note, mix any of your favorite fruits into the yogurt before assembling or layer fruit in between yogurt and granola layers if so desired.

Kid Friendly Cooking: Cheesy Scrambled Eggs Recipe!

 
Ingredients:

1 -6 egg (Depending on your preference)
2 slices cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon butter

Directions:

1 Slice the cheese into tiny squares.
 
2 Crack the eggs into a bowl and mash them up with a fork.
 
3 (Be sure to wash the fork to prevent raw egg poisoning.) Put the butter on a pan on a stove-top set on high.
 
4 Let it melt and move it around until it covers the entire pan.
 
5 Pour the cheese and the eggs into the pan, and using a fork or something else, spread the eggs around, never letting them stay in one space too long.
 
6 Take the eggs out when you desire according to wether you like them hard or soft.
 

Kid Friendly Cooking: Basic French Toast Recipe!

Servings: 3
 
Ingredients:

2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon sugar
6 slices stale bread

Directions:

Beat eggs in a shallow bowl. Add milk, vanilla, and cinammon sugar, and beat until frothy.

Soak each slice of bread in the egg mixture, first on one side, then the other.

Cook both sides in a greased non-stick skillet until golden.
 

Kid Friendly Cooking: Individual Cream Cheese Danish Recipe!

 
Servings: 40
 
Ingredients:

2 (10 ounce) cans crescent roll dough
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, diced
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon sour cream
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon butter, softened

Directions:

1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
 
2 Slice (unrolled) crescent roll dough into 1/4 inch slices (as if making slice-and-bake cookie dough).
 
3 Place slices of dough on cookie sheet and make slight indention in the middle.
 
4 In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, white sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract and sour cream.
 
5 Add a tablespoon of filling to each roll.
 
6 Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
 
7 In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar, milk and butter.
 
8 After Danish has cooled, drizzle with icing.

Kid Friendly Cooking: Breakfast Banana Split Recipe!

 
Ingredients:

1 banana, split lengthwise
1/2 cup yogurt, any flavor you like
1/4 cup granola cereal or 1/4 cup cereal
1/4 cup blueberries or 1/4 cup other berries
chocolate (optional) or fruit syrup (optional)
whipped cream (optional)
1 maraschino cherry

Directions:

1 Place banana in a bowl and top with yogurt.
 
2 Sprinkle granola or cereal over the yogurt and top with berries.
 
3 Add a little chocolate or fruit topping syrup if desired.
 
4 Garnish with some whipped cream and a cherry.
