Blu-Ray Review: Incredibles 2

It's been 14 years since Director Brad Bird introduced us to his family of superheroes and since then we have become surrounded by superheroes from various studios.

The movie opens literally right after the original ends. We see our heroes, the Parr family take on The Underminer! And just like that we thrown into the action!

As we know from the first film, superheroes are illegal but enter a tycoon Winston Deavor who wants to see superheroes legal again. Helen is chosen to lead the campaign to bring superheroes back while Bob is left to take care of the household.

What follows is an engaging story full of heart and family. While we have waited 14 years for this sequel, Incredibles 2 easily ranks as not only one of Pixar's best movies, but one of the best superhero movies ever! The movie not only lives up to the hype of the original but surpasses it in several ways. For one, the humor level far exceeds that of the original. Jack Jack and Edna Mode easily steal the show. Second, the action is far more intense with bigger stakes. With the main characters all established, the action scenes will leave you on the edge of your seat. Third, there is a lot more depth to the overall story. They explore the superhero genre in ways that not even Marvel has yet to explore.

Pixar crafts one of the best films, animated or otherwise of the year and can only be summed up in one word, incredible!

Video:

Once again Disney shows why they are the best at blu-ray transfers. The video is once again top-notch! The colors are vibrant and every detail and texture on the fabrics, to skin tones, to the cityscapes, to the water effects, everything is a rainbow of color! Another outstanding effort from Disney!

Audio:
The audio mix is stunning! Explosions envelopes you into the action! The score and the dialogue are all perfectly clear!

Incredibles 2 Review - One of Pixar's Best Sequels

It's been 14 years since Director Brad Bird introduced us to his family of superheroes and since then we have become surrounded by superheroes from various studios.

Does Incredibles 2 hold it's own in the likes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let's find out as we review Incredibles 2!

The movie opens literally right after the original ends. If you have seen the sneak peek at Disney California Adventure, you get the first 10 minutes of the film.

Incredibles 2 opens in theaters June 15th, 2018.

SEATTLE — Ahead of the highly-anticipated release of DisneyPixar’s Incredibles 2 on June 15, Alaska Airlines unveiled a special-edition plane today, featuring moviegoers’ favorite family of “Supers.” The Incredibles 2-themed plane, Alaska’s first DisneyPixar film livery, was unveiled to a crowd of more than 2,000 cheering students during Aviation Day at the airlines’ Seattle hangar.

“This plane will delight guests of all ages from San Francisco to New York and beyond,” said Natalie Bowman, Alaska Airlines’ managing director of brand marketing and advertising. “Like all of us at Alaska Airlines, many of our guests have anxiously awaited Incredibles 2. We’re honored to take this incredible family to new heights and share the imagery with travelers across our expansive route network.”

Decked out in their Incredible super suits, the Parr family—Bob, Helen, Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack—spans the fuselage. Guests boarding the Incredibles 2plane will see a logo when they board. An image of the raccoon from the film, Jack-Jack’s nemesis, will delight guests seated over the wings.

“These characters are among the most celebrated characters in the Pixar family,” said Incredibles 2 producers Nicole Grindle and John Walker. “After waiting 14 years to see them on the big screen again, fans will love seeing them on their Alaska Airlines plane, too.”

The unique design is a collaboration between Disney•Pixar and Alaska Airlines. The Incredibles 2-themed 737-800, tail number N519AS, begins flying throughout Alaska’s route network Sunday. With a cruising speed of 530 mph and sporting larger-than-life images of the “Supers,” the plane will visit fans throughout the country via transcontinental routes and flights to Hawaii.

Alaska's Disneyland Resort-themed planes include the "Spirit of Disneyland II," launched in 2009; and the “Adventure of Disneyland Resort” Cars Land at Disney California Adventure plane, which made its debut in 2013.

About Incredibles 2
In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

Written and directed by Brad Bird (“Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles,” “Tomorrowland”) and Nicole Grindle (“Sanjay’s Super Team” short, “Toy Story 3” associate producer), Disney•Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” busts into theaters on June 15, 2018.
