Pixar Releases Details on Their Next Film, "Elemental"

Pixar Animation Studios revealed details about its 27th feature film, “Elemental,” which will release on June 16, 2023. Directed by Peter Sohn (“The Good Dinosaur,” “Partly Cloudy” short) and produced by Denise Ream (“The Good Dinosaur,” “Cars 2”), the film journeys alongside an unlikely pair, Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. The fiery young woman and the go-with-the-flow guy are about to discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common.

“Elemental” is an original film inspired by Sohn’s childhood in New York. “My parents emigrated from Korea in the early 1970s and built a bustling grocery store in the Bronx,” said the director. “We were among many families who ventured to a new land with hopes and dreams—all of us mixing into one big salad bowl of cultures, languages and beautiful little neighborhoods. That’s what led me to ‘Elemental.’

“Our story is based on the classic elements—fire, water, land and air,” Sohn continued. “Some elements mix with each other, and some don’t. What if these elements were alive?”

WALT DISNEY ANIMATION STUDIOS’ INTRODUCES “STRANGE WORLD”

Concept art is now available for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming feature film “Strange World.” The original action-adventure journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest—and by far— most crucial mission. According to director Don Hall, “Strange World” is a nod to pulp magazines—popular fiction from the first half of the 20th century that was printed on inexpensive wood pulp paper. “I loved reading the old issues of pulps growing up,” he said. “They were big adventures in which a group of explorers might discover a hidden world or ancient creatures. They’ve been a huge inspiration for ‘Strange World.’”

Helmed by Hall (Oscar®-winning “Big Hero 6,” “Raya and the Last Dragon”) and co-director/writer Qui Nguyen (co-writer “Raya and the Last Dragon”), and produced by Roy Conli  (Oscar®-winning “Big Hero 6,” “Tangled”), “Strange World” releases November 23, 2022.

My Dream Loot Crate - The Disney Movie Vault Crate - Beauty and The Beast

When Loot Crate said they were interested in learning about what ideas people would put together for a Dream Crate my mind went wild with all of the possibilities of all the Loot Crates that could be created in the World of Disney. Narrowing it down to one idea forced me to really think about what was my overall favorite thing in the Disney Universe and that would be the movies.

So, my idea for My Dream Loot Crate is the Disney Movie Vault Loot Crate! Every month you would get a Disney movie and a variety of cool items to help you celebrate that movie! Each crate would then fold into what looks like a vault with that movie title on it, perfect for storage of all of your Loot Crate goodies.

I decided that the first crate would have to be for the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray of Beauty and The Beast. I choose this as the first crate as I am not only a huge fan of the animated version but I cannot wait for the live action version next year.

For those of you not familiar with Loot Crate, it is a monthly subscription service that sends you between 4 to 6 geeky items to your door from a wide variety of brands.

Let's take a look into My Dream Loot Crate and see what treasures we uncover.

The 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray of Beauty and The Beast is the highlight of this Loot Crate. The only animated film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards includes four versions of the film as well as a host of stunning all-new bonus extras.

Next, you will uncover this light-up Lumiere ornament. A fantastic way to light your path all year through. This item is from the Disney Store.

Continuing through the Loot Crate you will discover a stowaway. This adorable Chip mug has found his way into the Crate and into your heart. I love mugs and this is the perfect choice for this Loot Crate. This items is from the Disney Parks.

Next, to help celebrate the upcoming live action version of Disney's Beauty and The Beast you will also get this mini teaser poster perfect for framing.
And last but not least you will also get a really cool t-shirt like one of the above depending if you are male or female. These items are from the Disney Store.

The Disney Movie Vault Loot Crate will be the perfect gift for you or your favorite Disney movie fan. And this would not just be limited to Disney movies but to various studios as well.

What do you think of this Dream Loot Crate? Would this be something you want to see become a reality? And what would be in your Dream Loot Crate? Leave comments below!

Star Wars Lands Coming to Disney Hollywood Studios and Disneyland

Star Wars-Themed Lands Coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2015) – Today at the D23 EXPO 2015, The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced to an audience of more than 7,500 fans that Star Wars-themed lands will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., allowing Star Wars fans to step into the stories from a galaxy far, far away.

Ambitious plans to bring Star Wars to life in the two parks include creating Disney’s largest single themed land expansions ever at 14 acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

"I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” said Iger.  “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever.  These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”

These authentic lands will have two signature attractions.  Along with the thrilling battle experience, another attraction puts guests behind the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon, as they take on a customized secret mission.

Iger also shared concept images of the Star Wars-themed lands, giving fans a glimpse at what is to come for Disney parks.

The partnership between Disney and Lucasfilm dates back to 1987, when the successful Star Tours attraction, inspired by George Lucas’s legendary Star Wars film series, opened at Disneyland.  The attraction was then redesigned, emerging as “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” in 2011 and featuring more than 50 different story outcomes and the possibility to visit five different planets.

For 60 years, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has been delighting millions of people with fantastic storytelling, exceptional entertainment and extraordinary experiences, creating places where guests can make life-long memories with their friends and families.  This announcement marks an unprecedented time of growth with exciting developments happening around the world – from Disneyland Resort’s Diamond Celebration to the anticipated opening of Shanghai Disney Resort in China.
