Today (10/1) is The Magic Kingdom's 40th Anniversary!
The dream of course began with Walt when he imagined EPCOT that would contain a Disney theme park. Walt passed away before his dream was realized and the area evolved into the area that we know today.
Below is Walt sharing his idea for EPCOT.
After Walt's death, his brother Roy oversaw the construction of Walt Disney World to honor his brother Walt. Below is the TV special covering the grand opening of Walt Disney World in 1971.
