Restaurant Review: XA Sweet and Savory Cafe!

I had dinner at XA Sweet and Savory Cafe in Orange!
Everything is made fresh with the freshest ingredients available! The prices are great and the portions are generous!
You can choose from three protein options (chicken, pork and fish). There are seven seasoning offerings.

Chef and owner Sean came out to introduce himself and give us several samples which made deciding even more difficult!
With an entree you get to choose from two sides. They all sounded so good! A complete dinner with a drink was $10! You can't go wrong with that!
My friend Brian went with the chicken and the maple and spice seasoning. He felt the pepper was a bit too much but he made short work of the chicken. He went with the potato cake and the roasted squash as his sides. I'll talk more about the potato cake later but the roasted squash tasted like yams! So good!
I went with the chicken as well but with the Mexican adobo seasoning. This was the juiciest chicken I have ever had. The seasoning was perfect and I loved the diced tomatoes. It was along the lines of a pico de gallo. The sauteed green beans were delicious! Crisp and flavorful! The potato cake was a grilled potato along the lines of mashed potatoes and a baked potatoes with garlic! So good!

The presentation made it seem like we were at a much higher end restaurant!
They also offer a great selection of pastries and cookies. I couldn't resist getting a few cookies for later. Sean was gracious enough to let us try a few!
Amazing cheesecake cookies! Soft and buttery with the great creaminess of the cream cheese! One of my favorites!
Snickerdoodles! You can't go wrong with the classics and this is one of the best ever. It's moist and buttery!
Double chocolate brownie cookies! Super soft and rich!
Apple pie cookies! Just like a warm slice of apple pie! I love the chunks of apple!
Smoked bacon chocolate chip cookies! Another soft and moist cookie! The sweetness of the chocolate pairs perfectly with the smokiness and saltiness of the bacon!
S'mores cookies! Never has a s'mores cookie been more perfectly made! The gooey marshmallow with the chocolate and graham crackers are like sitting at the camp fire without the smoke, bugs and mess!
Green tea cookies! Another super soft cookie with the subtle flavor of green tea!
Blueberry oatmeal almond cookies! I saved the best for last! This reminded me of those Chinese almond cookies with the subtle flavor of blueberry!

I cannot wait to go back and try the fish and all of the sides! Great prices, generous portions, amazing cookies and a fantastic owner make this a place to come back to again and again!
