DISNEY AND myLINGO BREAK LANGUAGE BARRIERS FOR MOVIEGOERS

DISNEY AND myLINGO BREAK LANGUAGE BARRIERS FOR MOVIEGOERS

myLINGO to Provide Free Spanish Language Audio Track for Disney’s “McFarland, USA”

LOS ANGELES (February 12, 2015)—Walt Disney Studios has unveiled a new collaboration with myLINGO, a smartphone app that allows moviegoers to experience a film in the language of their choice discreetly through personal headphones.  For Disney’s upcoming release of “McFarland, USA,” moviegoers can enjoy the film in Spanish right along side their bilingual family and friends when the film hits theaters onFebruary 20.

The myLINGO app uses the microphone on a moviegoer’s smartphone or other device to “listen” to the audio, once the movie has begun.  The app, through a proprietary algorithm, then matches the unique audio signature to its precise place in the movie, and plays back the alternate language audio through headphones in perfect sync with the film. The audio file will only play if it hears the movie, and once the movie is over, the file self-deletes from the app.

“We are delighted to bring the magical world of Disney films to a broader group of Spanish-speaking viewers and multicultural families at select theatres with this new technology,” said Paul Holliman, Vice President, Strategic Planning at Walt Disney Studios.  “myLINGO provides a rich and customized cinematic experience, where bilingual families and friends can share the same emotion, laughter and excitement together in a whole new way.”

The Spanish audio track for “McFarland, USA” will be offered for free via a promotional code throughout opening weekend February 20 – 22.   Following the opening weekend, filmgoers can access the audio track for $1.99.

“The Walt Disney Company is one of the most iconic and respected companies in the world, and  myLINGO is thrilled to be working together on such an important film about bringing people and communities together,” said Adam Polak, co-founder of myLINGO. Co-founder, Olenka Polak added, “myLINGO is dedicated to creating authentic and inclusive experiences that are accessible to all moviegoers no matter what language they speak.”

Cinemagoers can enjoy their customized audio experience in three easy steps:
1.       Download the myLINGO app for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

2.       Before going to the theater, choose the Spanish audio file for McFarland USA and download it - either at home, or someplace with a strong Wi-Fi signal.

3.       Be sure to bring your smartphone and good earphones that seal the ear canal.

Disney's Tap Tap Muppets for iPhone and iPod touch download for FREE

IT’S TIME TO PLAY THE MUSIC AS “TAP TAP MUPPETS” LAUNCHES ON THE APP STORE
New Free Muppets Music Game Will Have Fans Tapping Along To Music From Disney’s “The Muppets” Favorite Songs And Movie Soundtrack
Burbank, Calif. -- November 17, 2011 -- Disney Mobile today released “Tap Tap Muppets” for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.  Available for free from the App Store, “Tap Tap Muppets” brings Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and the rest of the gang together for what fans will surely agree is the most sensational celebration of their favorite Muppet music.
Based on the popular “Tap Tap Revenge” gameplay, the most successful mobile music franchise of all time, “Tap Tap Muppets” features six full tracks including three songs from Disney’s “The Muppets” soundtrack, which will be released by Walt Disney Records on November 21. The app also includes three of the most memorable songs from the Muppets tribute compilation, “The Green Album.”

“Tap Tap Muppets” Full Song List Includes:
·         “Life’s A Happy Song” Performed by Jason Segel, Amy Adams and Walter
·         “Let’s Talk About Me” Performed by Chris Cooper
·         “Me Party” Performed by Amy Adams and Miss Piggy
·         “The Muppet Show Theme” Performed by OK Go
·         “Movin’ Right Along” Performed by Alkaline Trio
·         “Night Life” Performed by Brandon Saller and Billy Martin (Good Charlotte)

“Tap Tap Muppets” is also jam-packed with video, character profiles, movie info, and more. In addition, players can connect socially to the Muppets.
“Given the important role music has always played with the Muppets, it makes perfect sense that ‘Tap Tap Muppets’ is the first Disney-branded game for the ‘Tap Tap’ franchise,” said Bart Decrem, general manager of Disney Mobile. “This app gives Muppets fans and gamers alike an opportunity to experience the beloved music of the Muppets in an entirely new environment.”
The launch of “Tap Tap Muppets” on the App Store coincides with the theatrical release of Disney’s “The Muppets.” On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze Muppet Studios and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the studio, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With a screenplay written by Jason Segel & Nicholas Stoller, the film is directed by James Bobin. Featuring signature celebrity cameos, Disney’s “The Muppets” hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011. The film is rated PG by the MPAA.
