MICKEY MOUSE TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY WITH A TRIP AROUND THE WORLD

MICKEY MOUSE TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY WITH A TRIP AROUND THE WORLD

DISNEY’S BRIGHTEST STAR INVITES THE YOUNG AND YOUNG-AT-HEART TO JOIN THE PARTY.

BURBANK, Calif., October 21, 2016 — To celebrate his upcoming birthday, Mickey Mouse is embarking on a trip around the world, where he will make surprise appearances in iconic, real-world locations to delight his fans and friends. These magical moments chronicling Mickey’s global adventures will be captured and shared on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Facebook page, culminating with the debut of a video highlighting Mickey’s travels featuring an upbeat new song, “What We Got.” The video will debut on the big day: November 18. Mickey fans are encouraged to join the celebration on social media using #HappyBirthdayMickey.

In advance of Mickey’s birthday, Disney has launched the Mickey Mouse Instagram account (@MickeyMouse). Following on the popularity of the Mickey Mouse Facebook page, which has more than 13 million followers, Mickey’s Instagram page will showcase videos and images including Mickey’s global travels, as well as his appearances in Disney films, television shows, and theme parks.

On Mickey’s birthday, select locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, as well as Disney Stores in the United States, will be distributing commemorative “Happy Birthday, Mickey!” buttons. Disneyland Park in Anaheim will host a special pre-parade birthday celebration for Mickey, and at Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando, characters and performers will dance in a special birthday-themed edition of the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party.

Also on November 18, Disney Channel will air the Emmy®-winning new Mickey Mouse shorts throughout the day and premiere two new cartoon series featuring Mickey Mouse. On Mickey Meows Club, the feline hosts of a web-based talk show provide their own “cat”-mentary on Mickey’s incredible performances in their favorite shorts. Mickey’s How Not To will provide viewers with a humorous series of informative tips on how not to do things, using Mickey’s funniest fails and moments from the latest cartoons. Plus, that day Disney Junior will debut the teaser for the upcoming series Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

In addition, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, Oh My Disney, Babble, and other Disney sites will be posting Mickey-related videos, galleries, stories, crafts, recipes, and shareables leading up to and on his birthday.

Mickey’s birthday is celebrated in honor of the release of his first theatrical film, Steamboat Willie, on November 18, 1928 at the Colony Theatre in New York City. Since then, he has starred in more than 100 cartoons and can currently be seen on Disney Channel in the Mickey Mouse cartoon series.

'Indiana Jones' Bar opens at Disney Springs with Great References and even Better Food and Drinks!

*Special shoutout to my friend Krystle for being here on Opening Day and for all the great photos!*

Today (9/22/15) was the opening day for Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World! This Indiana Jones themed bar named after a small backstory character, it was Jock Lindsey who told Indy to "show a little backbone," as he flew the plane in Raiders of The Lost Ark.

The bar is located between The Boathouse and Paradiso 37.

Specializing in small bites and drinks, this will be one of the places you will want to stop at.

Love the newspaper front page! So much to look at and to take in! Lots of great Indy references throughout the entire bar!

We learn more of Jock's backstory as he trained for air shows throughout the 1920s and 1930s.

Time to take a look at the pilot's log book, otherwise known as the menu!

So super nerdy alert but I love this detail! See the Society for Explorers and Adventurers? It spells out SEA! For those of you that already know then you are probably pretty stocked to see this too! In Tokyo, there is Tokyo DisneySEA. And yes, that is what the SEA stands for! In that park, Harrison Hightower, who owned the Hotel Hightower, home to the Tower of Terror. Hightower is a member of SEA! In Hong Kong Disneyland, Mystic Manor is owned by Lord Henry Mystic, who is also a member of SEA! And now we learn that Jock Lindsey is a member of SEA! Now where is the Disneyland connection into SEA? Time will tell!

Lao Che's Revenge! Spicy Asian wings!

Good dates! Goat cheese-stuffed dates with Marcona almonds and pickled vegetables!

Tanis Tacos! Filled with Falafel, shredded lettuce and cucumber tomato salad!

Squid? Why did it have to be squid? Calamari flatbread with harissa spread!

Rolling Boulder Sliders! Three spicy meatball sliders served with yogurt sauce!

A Willie Scott drink? Sign me up! Even though I had a Willie Scott drink at a different Indy event!

Take a look at this awesome monkey mug! I must have one!

Reggie's Revenge! Florida Cane 'Orlando Orange' Vodka, Midori Melon Liqueur, white cranberry juice and fresh lime juice!

On the left is the Diving Bell made of Simply Lemonade and watermelon topped with a lemon-lime foam. On the right is the Poisonless Dart made of soda water with mint, simple syrup and fresh lime juice.

Just send the entire Reggie's Revenge over to my table please!

One last thing to take a look at is this coaster! I love the Disneyland reference!

Once again thank you to Krystle for the use of her photos! I cannot wait to get back to WDW and check Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar out!

D23 Expo 2013: Imagineering Teases Star Wars Land(s)!

Inside the Journey Into Imagineering pavilion, the Imagineers gave us a teaser on the possible future of Star Wars in the theme parks!
Looks like a certain familiar astromech broke out of his box!
Artoo was kind enough to take a photo with me and show off his Imagineering nametag!
Looks like something needed to be refrigerated!

Those have got to be some big bottles of Bantha milk! Too bad they have all gone bad and leaking out of the bottles!
I will take one of these lightsaber boxes home with me!
Clearly someone didn't read the information on the box as someone did not handle the lightsabers with care and skill.
I thought these things were highly unstable!
I will keep my distance from this box!
This box doesn't seem like it would feed even one rancor!
I love the play on the "fake" production name of Return of The Jedi when it was called Blue Harvest so people wouldn't pay much attention to them. The Orange name could be making a reference to both Orange Counties where Disneyland and Walt Disney World are located.
I also love the tagline here! We are doing so much speculating on what could be built and where! Hopefully this announcement is coming soon! Perhaps at the D23 Expo in Japan set for October?
Oh could this be the box we are all looking for?
Hmmm all the plans seem to be for Return of The Jedi including speederbikes! Speederbikes are the biggest rumor that is set to take over the old Peoplemover tracks!

It was cool to see these crates and see some fun details but will these crates all play out in Anaheim? Once again I hope we find out soon! But a Jedi is suppose to be patient right?

Happy 15th Anniversary to Disney's Animal Kingdom!

I couldn't think of a better place to share photos with all of you on Earth Day than from Disney's Animal Kingdom Park in Florida!
If you have never been, you will never look at your local zoo the same way ever again! The effort to make the environments look as natural as possible is unbelievable!
The animals look like they are literally right next to you. The barriers are all hidden keeping you a safe distance away.
You have to take the Kilimanjaro Safari tour and in the morning while the animals are all out and about! Later in the day they are off keeping cool or napping.
Some animals are allowed to roam free and can literally stop your vehicle from proceeding. This makes for an amazing opportunity for some up close and personal photos!
One of my favorite attractions is here! Expedition:Everest is what I refer to as a combination of Big Thunder Mountain and the Matterhorn with amazing detail and scenery!
Just take a look at the queue! It looks like you are in the Himalayas!
And make sure you explore everywhere! This includes a great walking trail to see the tigers!
There is another great walking trail to see gorillas!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my quick tour of Animal Kingdom! One of my favorite parks in Walt Disney World! Happy 15th Anniversary and Happy Earth Day!
