CHOC Adventure In The Park to Celebrate 30 Years of CHOC Walk In The Park

This year celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Walk. This year's celebration will be totally unique in that it will be a party in Disney California Adventure Park on August 27th, 2022!

We are both working together to raise funds for CHOC! And the funds I raise are going right into Rosanna's Team!

On July 6th, a few members of the media and select influencers were invited to learn more about the CHOC Adventure In The Park! This is going to be an amazing event that starts off as mix-in party with regular park guests from 5 pm to 9 pm. Then from 9 pm until midnight the park will be totally for CHOC Adventure In The Park!

What will be available to do you ask? Well, attractions, shops, entertainment, food and a few magical moments. There will even be a special World of Color show! There will also be discounts at some neighboring hotels in the area.

It is very fitting that the 30th Anniversary of the CHOC Walk is taking place in a Disney Park. The relationship between CHOC and Disney goes back to 1960 with Walt Disney himself! Over $37.5 million has been raised just between CHOC and The Disneyland Resort!

The fundraising goes towards the millions of children that enter CHOC to get the care they need. This year I am partnering with my lovely friend Rosanna and her family who have a very personal connection to CHOC and below is their story in her words:

On July 30, 2008, I went into labor two months early. It was my first pregnancy after almost two years of trying to get pregnant. I was pregnant with two boys, my Zachary and my Colin. It was a high-risk pregnancy from the start. I almost lost them very early on.

When I went into labor two months early, we rushed to St. Joseph’s hospital and I was sent to do an emergency C-section. Zachary was born first, teeny tiny with a mighty cry, but his lungs weren’t fully developed and he had to be taken to CHOC’s NICU across the street.

Colin was silent at birth and when I begged to see him and he wasn’t brought to me right away, I knew something was wrong, but I couldn’t admit it to myself. They eventually wrapped him up tight and brought him to me. He held my finger tightly and I thought it might be okay.

While I recovered from my surgery, Colin and Zachary went straight to CHOC’s NICU. Colin was in his own room and Zachary in the regular NICU.

Colin’s condition was extremely serious. The CHOC nurses were amazing and went above and beyond to make him as comfortable as they could. When he left us on August 5, 2008, they made sure he was surrounded by our family, surrounded by love as he went on to a better place. They grieved along side us and checked on us daily.

Zachary stayed in the NICU for a month while his lungs and heart grew stronger. We had many scares when he would just randomly stop breathing, but he was diligently cared for by his amazing nurse.

It was the most bittersweet time of our lives. Here we had our amazing Zachary, who was tiny but a mighty fighter, making leaps and bounds thanks to CHOC’s care. But we also were in the most pain we had ever been in having lost our little Colin. The nurses, doctors, and staff were amazing. Not only were our boys well-cared for, but they cared for us, too. We were, understandably, struggling.

When Zachary finally came home a month later, we were terrified new parents, but we had been given so many tools and so much advice to help us through the transition. We are FOREVER grateful to all of the staff at CHOC for the help they provided us!

They saved our Zachary’s life again when he was in first grade and had a horrible asthma attack that sent him to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for 5 days. We thought we were going to lose him. It was terrifying, but again, CHOC’s team of nurses, doctors, and staff went above and beyond for our sweet boy and he came home to celebrate Christmas with us.

We have made sure both Zachary and Elliott’s health insurance is affiliated with CHOC. We can’t thank them enough. This is why we donate. This is why we did the CHOC Walk for years. This is why we are excited to participate in the 30th Anniversary of the CHOC Walk and to see it re-imagined as the CHOC Adventure in the Park!

And it's families like my friend Rosanna that we are raising funds for. She made this touching video below to thank everyone at CHOC for what they do and for her family and for hundreds of other families like hers!

So, you can get involved by helping share this post, donating using the link above or registering and becoming a participant yourself! To attend the CHOC Adventure In The Park, each participant needs to raise $250 before August 5th! The event will have a capacity cap and weekly emails will keep you updated on how much space is still available as people reach their $250 threshold! So, once it is full, it is full!

REGISTER NOW to attend the CHOC Adventure In The Park! Once you are registered then raise the $250 to join us in the park for a magical night as we celebrate 30 Years of CHOC! And if you cannot attend the event then please think about donating even a dollar! Every dollar counts and goes a long way to helping children! And if you are able to join us in the park then be prepared for a one-of-a-kind event and look for us!

Dapper Spider-Man Suited Up By OppoSuits Swings Into Fall Dapper Day 2018

As many of you know, Dapper Day is one of my favorite events at The Disneyland Resort. It happens twice a year, one in Spring and the other in Fall.

What is Dapper Day? Dapper Day was created to celebrate the tradition of stepping out in style. When people would put on their Sunday best and head outside!

Over the years Dapper Day has not only welcomed those that dress Dapper but people who have been combining Disney Bounding, which one wears colors and accessories to emulate Disney characters without perfectly recreating their costumes which would be considered cosplay, with Dapper and creating what is called Dapper Bounding. I am a huge fan of Dapper Bounding and always thinking of what character in the Disney Universe to create in a Dapper Bounding style.

So, let's follow the adventures of Dapper Spider-Man in this amazing suit by OppoSuits! The fedora came from Amazon and the umbrella was hand painted by my friend Samantha!

Many of you are already familiar with the origins of Spider-Man. Peter Parker was bit by a radiaoactive spider and soon Peter began to notice he possessed new powers.

Dapper Spider-Man on the other hand was given great power the moment he donned the OppoSuits Spider-Man Suit!

But Dapper Spider-Man also knew that with great power came great responsibility. His hero Walt Disney knew this and created a magical world for people from around the world to enjoy.

Tony Stark then recruited Dapper Spider-Man to provide him with greater opportunities to his powers for good!

"NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS" MACKENZIE FOY SURPRISES GUESTS AT DISNEYLAND RESORT

Mackenzie Foy, who plays Clara in the upcoming fantasy adventure “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” surprised guests at Disney California Adventure’s Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land tonight after they caught a sneak peek of footage from Disney’s 2018 holiday feature film. For a limited time beginning tomorrow, Oct. 5, guests visiting Disney Parks will be able to preview footage from the movie in sneak peeks planned for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” opens Nov. 2, 2018.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.

Opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 2, 2018.
Directors:  Lasse Hallström, Joe Johnston
Producers:  Mark Gordon, Larry Franco
Executive producers:  Sara Smith, Lindy Goldstein

Novoo 20,100 mAh AC Power Bank and a Day at The Disneyland Resort

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Omars Electronics but all thoughts are my own.

Would the Novoo AC Power Bank have more power than either scream or laugh energy from Monsters, Inc.? A friend and I put it to the test with a full day at The Disneyland Resort!

As someone who uses a portable power bank on a daily basis, I am always looking for the next big thing and I have found it in the Novoo AC Power Bank! The massive 20,100 mAh battery comes in a cool cylinderical shape and features three different options to recharge your devices including a USB-A jack, a USB-C jack and a standard AC outlet! Basically, you can recharge nearly every device on the market today and recharge multiple devices at the same time!

The Novoo AC Power Bank has enough capacity to power The Collector's Fortress! In our day at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure we got over 5 charges on our smartphones with a full day of photo taking, video taking and live streaming. Both of our smartphones charged quickly as we never needed to stop to sit and charge our smartphones. This left us with more time to take in more attractions, shows and parades!

The size of the Novoo AC Power Bank is slightly larger than a can of soda, measuring 80mm x 80mm x 155mm and weighing in at just 2.2 pounds. So, you don't have to be as strong as Captain America to carry it around for the day!

After a full day at The Disneyland Resort, the Novoo AC Power Bank showed us that it has enough power to Infinity and Beyond! So what are you waiting for, get your hands on a Novoo AC Power Bank (use coupon code NOVOOESS for 15% off).

Omars Electronics also makes a variety of other gear for power users such as the Omars 10-Port Hub

(use coupon code OMARS10P for 15% off) and the Omars Beast – a crazy huge capacity 26,800 mAh 90 watt AC power bank (use coupon code NOVOOTPB for 10% off).

Snacking In The Parks: Mich-Helado from Clarabelle's on Buena Vista Street

One of the most popular drinks in Disney California Adventure Park is the michelada that you can find at the beverage stand near Monster's Inc. and over at Bayside Brews in the Pier area.

But now you can also get a Mich-Helado at Clarabelle's Hand=Scooped Ice Cream on Buena Vista Street. It is an amber lager with a spiced tomato and lime sorbet on a stick with house-made tamarindo sauce and chili-lime seasoning! Not sure how long it will stay on the menu so hurry and try one now!
