Hard-boiled eggs dyed alien green (using Easter egg dye or gel food coloring) or plastic eggs of a similar size and color
Scissors
Craft paper (green, blue, and purple)
Toilet tissue tubes or paper towel tube
Paper hole punch
Glue stick
Glue dots
Fine-tipped black marker
How To Make It
Print the template and use it to cut out a pair of green paper ears for each alien. Fold the ears in half to create a center crease, as shown.
Fashion an antenna for each alien by first folding a 3-inch long thin strip of green paper in half and gluing the two sides together, stopping 1/8-inch from the ends. Then fold the ends out to the sides, as shown.
Next, use the paper hole punch to create two green dots and glue them together, sandwiching the top of the antenna between them.
Create a stand for each egg by wrapping blue paper around a section of a toilet tissue or paper towel tube and securing the overlapped edges with glue. Add a thin strip of purple paper around the top of the tube for a collar.
Set the eggs sideways atop their stands. Use glue dots to attach the ears and antennae. Add three eyes to each egg, placing the center one slightly higher than the other two.
For the finishing touch, draw a wide smile on each alien (this is easier to do if you remove the egg from the stand and hold it in one hand while drawing with the other).
Print the template on regular paper or cardstock and cut out the pieces. Make all folds along dashed lines.
Build the parts one a a time by securing all tabs to their corresponding pieces in alphabetical order, using glue or double-sided tape. To build the gloves, fold each one in half along the dashed line and butterfly the tabs outward. Secure the gloves so the designs are two-sided.
When you’ve finished building the torso, head, waist, upper legs, boots, and arms, construct Buzz from the bottom up by first attaching the upper legs to the boots.
Continue construction by attaching the waist to the upper legs, the torso to the waist, and the head to the torso.
Attach each arm to Buzz’s torso where indicated, then attach Buzz’s gloves to his wrists.
Add Buzz’s Hawaiian accessories. The kukui nut lei goes around his neck, the grass bands fit around his ankles, the wrap fits around his waist, and the haku lei wraps around his head.
Back in 1995, a little known company called Pixar, released the world's first computer animated movie called Toy Story and animated films have never been the same. Now, Toy Story 4 is ready to hit theaters and this may very well be the best of the entire franchise. It is charming, poignant and follows a beautiful story arc that makes a logical progression from each of the previous movies. It is also the funniest of the four. In fact, I know I missed a lot of dialogue because of all the laughter coming from the audience.
The movie begins with a flashback to where Bo Peep went and then we get back to the present time with Bonnie and her first day of school. She created a new toy named Forky and then her family is off on a road trip. Forky doesn't understand why he exists and Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky the value of being a child's toy. Along the way Woody runs into Bo Peep and we are off on our adventure.
First time Director Josh Cooley takes the themes from the previous three films and greatly expands upon them. The ending of Toy Story 3 is expanded upon in a way that feels natural. This fourth outing takes us to a small town and we learn that there can be more than one reason for a toy's purpose and more than one reason for a toy to be happy. The difference between free will and one's own purpose is expanded upon here. The other main theme of the relationship of a toy as a child has always been the theme throughout the series as we watch children grow up before our very eyes is expanded upon as well.
The new characters fit in perfectly and we learn more about each of them. I was already a fan of both Ducky and Bunny from the teaser trailers and they continue with the laughs throughout the film. The standout additions are Forky and Duke Caboom. Forky's childlike innocence is infectious and helps advance the story and a reminder of a toy's purpose. Caboom's charm and charisma steal every scene that he is in. Gabby Gabby and her ventriloquist dummies and an element of comedic horror to the mix.
The film is visually stunning and the photorealistic quality is second to none. Wait until you see the rain sequence at night. Great new characters with our old friends out on adventure that make you laugh and make you cry. Toy Story 4 works not only as a sequel to the progression of our favorite toys but also as a wonderful stand alone movie. If this is indeed the end to this franchise then it is a perfect sendoff. I would be more than happy to see if there is a fifth chapter to this beloved franchise in a few years and I will be the first to welcome Toy Story 5 with open arms.
Filmmakers, voice talent and walk-around characters from Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” descended upon Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida, this morning to celebrate the upcoming release of the movie. Activities culminated in a special surprise following a screening of the film when filmmakers Josh Cooley, Mark Nielsen and Jonas Rivera, and voice cast members Tom Hanks (voice of Woody), Tim Allen (voice of Buzz Lightyear), Annie Potts (voice of Bo Peep), Tony Hale (voice of Forky), Keegan-Michael Key (voice of Ducky) and Keanu Reeves (voice of Duke Caboom) showed up in the theater to greet guests. “Toy Story 4” opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2019.

The toys hit the road in “Toy Story 4” alongside friends—new and old—foes and, of course, Forky. Filmmakers welcomed Christina Hendricks, Keanu Reeves and Ally Maki to the toy box today, revealing the three new characters they help bring to life.
Among the new faces is GABBY GABBY, an adorable, talking pull-string doll from the 1950s. But unfortunately for her, a manufacturing defect in her pull-string voice box has left her sounding anything but adorable. She has spent more than 60 years forgotten in the depths of a jam-packed antique store—her only companions are a band of voiceless ventriloquist dummies. Gabby Gabby knows someone will want her if only she can find a working voice box to repair hers.
Gabby Gabby is voiced by Christina Hendricks. “It became obvious right away that Christina was the perfect actress to play Gabby Gabby,” says director Josh Cooley. “She has the ability to sound inviting and friendly, then subtly become cold and terrifying in just a few words. It still gives me chills when I see Gabby’s introduction in the film. Also, Christina told me that she preferred playing with ventriloquist dummies over dolls as a kid. That’s when I knew it was meant to be.”
DUKE CABOOM is a 1970s toy based on Canada’s greatest stuntman. Riding his powerful Caboom stunt-cycle, Duke is always prepared to show off his stunt poses with confidence and swagger. However, Woody learns quickly that Duke has an Achilles heel: He has never been able to do the awesome stunts advertised in his own toy commercial. For years, Duke has been sitting in an antique store, constantly reliving the failures of his tragic past.
Duke Caboom is voiced by another great Canadian, Keanu Reeves. “The first time Josh [Cooley] and I talked with Keanu about the role, Keanu became Duke Caboom,” says producer Jonas Rivera. “Keanu was asking great questions that dug deep to find the soul of the character. At one point he stood up on the table in the middle of Pixar’s atrium and struck poses while proclaiming victory. It was so funny. It’s all in the movie and it’s all Keanu."
GIGGLE MCDIMPLES is a miniature plastic doll from the 1980s Giggle McDimples toy line. Giggle is Bo Peep’s best friend. Small enough to perch on Bo’s shoulder, Giggle is Bo’s confidant, supporter and advisor. “Giggle is Bo’s Jiminy Cricket—we’re able to get insight on Bo through their relationship together,” says Cooley. “Giggle is definitely the smallest toy in the Toy Story universe. She’s been stepped on, vacuumed up, and probably put up a kid’s nose in her time.”
Ally Maki voices the tiny character. “Giggle McDimples literally pops on the screen because of Ally’s personality and infectious energy,” says Cooley. “Nobody can laugh like Ally Maki."
BENSON is a classic, antique ventriloquist dummy, and Gabby Gabby’s right hand. He leads a small group of ventriloquist dummies that serve as Gabby's henchmen. With no person to give them a voice, these silent toys patrol the antique store with a looming quietness that is inherently unsettling.
“The dummies are, by far, some of the creepiest characters we’ve ever created,” says producer Mark Nielsen. “Our animators really leaned into the truth in materials for how our ventriloquist dummies move. Dummies’ bodies are soft with no structure, so our dummies’ arms just dangle and their legs bend backwards. Throw in their fixed expressions with their wide eyes and big hinged jaws and they’re nightmare material—in the best way possible.”

Bo Peep is back! This long-lost friend of Woody, Buzz and the gang always shared a special connection with Woody, but they have not seen each other in years, and Bo has become chipped and faded over time. Bo’s strength and sarcasm always belied her delicate porcelain exterior, and it turns out she’s an adventure-seeking free spirit who feels right at home on the road. When she and Woody are reunited under unlikely circumstances, they realize they’ve grown worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy.
“Bo’s taken control of her own destiny,” said “Toy Story 4” director Josh Cooley. “While Woody was watching Andy grow up, Bo gathered dust until she took it upon herself to head out into the world. And when Woody shows up, they can’t believe that they’ve found each other again.”
Annie Potts returns as the voice of Bo Peep. “She is modern, independent, capable and confident,” said Potts of her character. “Bo is written and conceived to be inspiring as she has weathered life’s ups and downs with grace. I aspire to that.”
Woody’s journey in “Toy Story 4” includes a visit to a carnival where he meets Ducky and Bunny, two carnival prizes who are eager to be won. But when their plans are rudely interrupted by Woody and his friends, they find themselves on an unexpected adventure with a group of toys who have no idea what it feels like to be tacked to a prize wall. “Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, who voice Ducky and Bunny, are two of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever seen,” said director Josh Cooley. “Of course, they are effortlessly funny, which would be enough. But they are incredible actors that understand story. Their improvs weren’t just for comedy sake, they were story motivated which elevated Ducky and Bunny and the film to a level I never could have expected.”
Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in “Toy Story 4,” welcoming new friends to Bonnie’s room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. “Like most people, I assumed that ‘Toy Story 3’ was the end of the story,” said director Josh Cooley. “And it was the end of Woody’s story with Andy. But just like in life, every ending is a new beginning. Woody now being in a new room, with new toys, and a new kid, was something we have never seen before. The questions of what that would be like became the beginning of an entertaining story worth exploring.”
A teaser trailer slated to debut with “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” in theaters Nov. 21, is available today.
But Forky insists that he is NOT atoy! An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. Unfortunately, every time he tries to get away, someone yanks him back into an adventure he’d rather skip. “The world of Toy Story is built upon the idea that everything in the world has a purpose,” said Cooley. “A toy’s purpose is to be there for its child. But what about toys that are made out of other objects? Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of a disposable spork, so he’s facing a crisis. He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him.”
Filmmakers called on comedian Tony Hale to provide the voice of Forky. “It’s a huge thrill to be part of the Toy Story family,” he said. “But it’s going to take a while for it to really sink in.”
Said Cooley, “When we thought up this character, Tony was the first actor that came to mind and I’m thrilled he accepted. Tony’s performance as Forky is a comedy salad of confidence, confusion, and empathy... served by hilarious spork.”
How were filmmakers able to convince Hale to give voice to Forky? “A utensil’s existential crisis?” he asked. “I’m in!”
So while Spring Dapper Day at Disneyland was on Sunday, Charlotte and I celebrated the entire weekend with two additional Pixar inspired Dapper Bounds! The best part is that we had planned these way before they announced Pixar Fest so it was meant to be!
Charlotte found this amazing lime green fabric filled and decorated with luxo lamps that she made into a dress for herself and a matching camp shirt for me! It made for a perfect 1950s inspired Pixar bound! Charlotte hand painted her parsol, made her ears and added a working mini luxo lamp on my straw fedora.

The next Pixar bound was Charlotte who made a custom dress to look like Andy's room from Toy Story. She hand painted the fabric and handmade all of the Toy Story characters on her dress. Her purse is the toy box. I was a Dapper Buzz Lightyear with a clear umbrella to look like Buzz's helmet and Charlotte created a custom band for my fedora to show off all of Buzz's buttons that are on his chest.
We had to pay a visit to Buzz and Woody and they loved our outfits! I love all the photos we took with them!
Perhaps my favorite photo with both Buzz and Woody is this random photo that looks like it was staged!
Over at Disneyland they had a lot of fun props to take photos with!
