SEATTLE— Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” on June 21, Alaska Airlines unveiled a special-edition aircraft today. The “Toy Story 4”-themed aircraft, Alaska’s second livery to feature Pixar’s characters, is decked out with toys from the “Toy Story 4” world. The aircraft was revealed to a crowd of surprised guests at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport by Alaska’s own Chief Football Officer Russell Wilson.

“Guests of all ages will be eager to toy with an adventure after hearing the buzz around our new ‘Toy Story 4’ livery,” said Natalie Bowman, Alaska Airlines’ managing director of brand marketing and advertising. “Many of us have grown up following the iconic characters, and we’re happy to take the toys to new heights, sharing the playful, heartwarming imagery with travelers across our coast-to-coast network––and beyond.”

Toy Story 4: Non-Spoiler Review for the Best Toy Story Movie Yet

Back in 1995, a little known company called Pixar, released the world's first computer animated movie called Toy Story and animated films have never been the same. Now, Toy Story 4 is ready to hit theaters and this may very well be the best of the entire franchise. It is charming, poignant and follows a beautiful story arc that makes a logical progression from each of the previous movies. It is also the funniest of the four. In fact, I know I missed a lot of dialogue because of all the laughter coming from the audience.

The movie begins with a flashback to where Bo Peep went and then we get back to the present time with Bonnie and her first day of school. She created a new toy named Forky and then her family is off on a road trip. Forky doesn't understand why he exists and Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky the value of being a child's toy. Along the way Woody runs into Bo Peep and we are off on our adventure.

First time Director Josh Cooley takes the themes from the previous three films and greatly expands upon them. The ending of Toy Story 3 is expanded upon in a way that feels natural. This fourth outing takes us to a small town and we learn that there can be more than one reason for a toy's purpose and more than one reason for a toy to be happy. The difference between free will and one's own purpose is expanded upon here. The other main theme of the relationship of a toy as a child has always been the theme throughout the series as we watch children grow up before our very eyes is expanded upon as well.

The new characters fit in perfectly and we learn more about each of them. I was already a fan of both Ducky and Bunny from the teaser trailers and they continue with the laughs throughout the film. The standout additions are Forky and Duke Caboom. Forky's childlike innocence is infectious and helps advance the story and a reminder of a toy's purpose. Caboom's charm and charisma steal every scene that he is in. Gabby Gabby and her ventriloquist dummies and an element of comedic horror to the mix.

The film is visually stunning and the photorealistic quality is second to none. Wait until you see the rain sequence at night. Great new characters with our old friends out on adventure that make you laugh and make you cry. Toy Story 4 works not only as a sequel to the progression of our favorite toys but also as a wonderful stand alone movie. If this is indeed the end to this franchise then it is a perfect sendoff. I would be more than happy to see if there is a fifth chapter to this beloved franchise in a few years and I will be the first to welcome Toy Story 5 with open arms.

“Toy Story 4” Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Feature Song Performed by Chris Stapleton

DISNEY AND PIXAR’S TOY STORY 4 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK FEATURES TWO NEW SONGS AND ORIGINAL SCORE
COMPOSED AND CONDUCTED BY RANDY NEWMAN

INCLUDING “THE BALLAD OF THE LONESOME COWBOY”
PERFORMED BY CHRIS STAPLETON

Soundtrack Pre-Order Kicks Off Today and is Available from
Walt Disney Records on June 21 as Movie Opens in Theaters

BURBANK, Calif. (June 5, 2019) – Woody, Buzz and the gang are back in the highly anticipated Disney and Pixar animated film, “Toy Story 4.” Accompanying the film is Walt Disney Records’ soundtrack album, which reunites the Toy Story franchise with the Academy Award®-winning composer and songwriter Randy Newman. The soundtrack features two new songs “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away” and “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy.”  The end credit version of “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” is performed by multi-Platinum, Grammy®-winning musician Chris Stapleton.   The song is available today as a single and lyric video.  The soundtrack will be available from Walt Disney Records on June 21 as the film opens in U.S. theaters nationwide.

The “Toy Story” films are beloved worldwide for their compelling characters, extraordinary storytelling, stunning visuals and the music of Randy Newman. The composer and songwriter is behind signature songs like “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “Strange Things,” “When She Loved Me” and “We Belong Together,” the last of which earned him an Academy Award® for best original song in 2010. “His music defines these movies,” said director Josh Cooley, “I can’t imagine making a fourth one without Randy Newman.”

Newman said, “I have great affection for the films, and it was good to be back in that world again.”  According to Newman, “Toy Story 4”—like its predecessors—has great emotional depth. “Important things are happening to people we love,” he said. “There’s plenty of action, but there’s a lot of deeper stuff. This picture had a lot of opportunity to do things of some depth emotionally—but not overdo it.”

Newman penned two new songs in the film, including “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away,” which is about Bonnie’s craft-project-turned-toy, Forky. “He gets it in his head that he’s disposable, so he keeps trying to throw himself in the trash can,” said Newman. “And Woody has put himself in charge of keeping him from doing so.”

“The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy" was written from Woody’s perspective.  Newman said, “Woody feels like he was a lonesome cowboy until someone comes along and changes his world.” Newman was excited to hear Chris Stapleton would record the end credit version of the song and felt he’d bring Woody’s feelings to life perfectly. “Chris Stapleton did a great job on this song.”

Stapleton said, “To me what has made the ‘Toy Story’ films hold up over time has been the strength of the stories and the songs and the writing and the characters. There’s something for people of all ages to enjoy in the world that is ‘Toy Story.’ It’s a tremendous honor to get to sing a Randy Newman song in what is without question one of the most iconic animated franchises in history.”

The Toy Story 4 original motion picture soundtrack is now available for physical pre-order. “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” performed by Chris Stapleton is available at streaming and download services.  For more information on Walt Disney Records releases, follow us at Facebook.com/Disney,Instagram/disneymusic, Twitter.com/disneymusic and our Disney Pixar Hits Playlist athttp://disneymusic.co/DisneyPixarHitsPL.

ABOUT “TOY STORY 4”:
Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So, when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries. Directed by Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?”), and produced by Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”) and Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”), Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” ventures to U.S. theaters on June 21, 2019.
