Steve Jobs tribute by Apple

Today marks the one year anniversary since the passing of Steve Jobs. Apple has posted a tribute video to Jobs on its front page, which ends with the following message from current Apple CEO Time Cook.

A message from Tim Cook,

Apple’s CEO Steve’s passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place. One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. No company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself. Our values originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his future legacy into the future. I’m incredibly proud of the work we are doing, delivering products that our customers love and dreaming up new ones that will delight them down the road. It’s a wonderful tribute to Steve’s memory and everything he stood for.

Tim

Apple Posts Steve Jobs Celebration Video from October 19th

Apple has posted a video from the Steve Jobs memorial/celebration held on Apple's campus on October 19th, 2011. The 80 minute video is available on Apple's site. All of the retail stores were closed during the event so that everyone could watch. Apple CEO Tim Cook opens the video:

"The last two weeks for me have been the saddest in my life by far. But I know Steve. And Steve would have wanted this cloud to lift for Apple and our focus to return to the work that he loved so much. So it's with that spirit, that we wanted to get the entire company together today to celebrate Steve's extraordinary life and many accomplishments he had across his life."

Update: It seems to not be working for some. (Note that streaming video requires Safari 4 or 5 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Lion, Safari on iOS 3 or later, or QuickTime 7 on Windows.)
