Asian Fusion Tacos and More from Pango in Fountain Valley!

Time to check out Pango, a brand new Asian taqueria in Fountain Valley.

This green tea horchata is my favorite new drink! The creamy horchata and the flavor of the green tea match perfectly!

I got the elote which is was delicious and just the right size for $1.25!

I also got the Korean BBQ taco which is flavorful with the kim chee and the tender bulgolgi! And it is a decent sized taco as well!

Friendly service and delicious food make this a place to check out! I look forward to going back to try more of their tacos!

Restaurant Review: Donut Bar in Fountain Valley! The Best Donuts in the OC?

As many of you know, I LOVE donuts! I am always looking for the next great donut place! This is the Donut Bar in Fountain Valley! Check out the donuts above! They make everything in house! Everything is made fresh daily! The donut options also change from a day to day basis! Luckily their Facebook page shows you the donuts they will have the next day! And when they sell out, they are done for the day!

The donuts above and starting with those at the top are two kinds of red velvet donuts! One is a red velvet cake donut and the other is red velvet glazed donut! Then a strawberry split and their gluten-free donut of the day a banana caramel donut. The bottom one is a salted caramel donut! All are amazing! None of the donuts are heavy. They are all light and fluffy. They offer a different gluten-free donut every day unlike some places that only offer them once a week.
In the next box we have a fresh blueberry donut to the upper left and a creme brulee donut right below that. The giant donut is a raspberry pistachio donut! All were so good and fresh! All these donuts were also light and fluffy! You are going to be hard pressed to just pick one or two donuts!
The bottom box here has a maple bacon bar, a mud pie donut, the cherry in the middle is the root beer float donut (yes it really does taste like a root beer float), and the last one is the amazing bourbon maple donut! The glaze is maple bourbon and you will taste the bourbon! Oh yes, you will taste the bourbon! They should almost card you before they sell you one!
The Donut Bar also carries some great drinks to wash down those donuts with! Check out the Stumptown coffee I have here! One of the best coffee places provides coffee to accompany these amazing donuts!
Check out the drink list! Do you see what I see? That's right milk on tap! You know I am going to have to try some of that!
Delicious chocolate milk is on tap! So is the strawberry milk that they mix milk with strawberries in house! If you ask you can get a Neapolitan milk like the one you see in the above photo!
They also have this massive chalk board where you can write down suggestions for new donuts or simply tell the Donut Bar how awesome they are!

Amazingly fresh donuts with fantastic flavors and great coffee and milk! Plus, awesome employees make this the best donut place in the entire OC! Get there early as they have limited hours! Also, on the weekends they have special donuts for kids. One donut per child and adults can buy these fun cartoon character donuts!

Restaurant Review: Samurai Burrito! Sushi Burritos and Sushi Nachos!

Time for another restaurant review! This time I am headed to Fountain Valley and Samurai Burrito! Think of this as the subway for sushi. In this day of customizable food, these guys have a great take on the sushi roll!
They have a pretty extensive menu so it will be tough to make a decision.

So many awesome choices!
And if you want to customize your roll you can do that as well! So the possibilities are endless!
Here you can see all the wrapping options.
Once you put in your order they quickly assemble your sushi roll!
Lil Oishi loves the milk tea! It's so smooth and sweet!
Check out the amazing Samurai Super Nachos! This is big enough to share with two or more friends as an awesome appetizer! They make a half order as well if you would like! But this massive amount of amazingness is filled with spicy tuna, salmon, eel, masago, crab, onions, and wonton chips! Such an amazing idea and I would gladly order this every time I come here!
I went with the Kamikazu Roll which was rice, seared albacore, garlic, onions, avocado, crab, cucumber, rising onion sauce and wrapped in their Samurai Togarashi with chili peppers. The flavors are fantastic and you can tell how fresh everything is. Such a great idea to have a massive sushi roll in your hands!
Now that is an epic meal!
If you still have room they have a great selection of desserts! I was so full and passed but I will get something next time for sure!

Besides the baked goods, they also have a wonderful selection of Japanese goodies like my favorite KitKats!

So come in and bring some friends! You will love the Mexican fusion take on the sushi roll!

Review of Izzy's Bagels

It was only a little after 8am and this was my selection at Izzy's Bagels in Fountain Valley. You can tell this neighborhood bagel place is popular! I'm glad I stopped in to see what they had to offer! I wasn't disappointed!
The French Toast Bagel caught my eye! I ordered one and then had to decide between a ton of cream cheese options! I went with the maple cream cheese! What a great decision that was! I ordered it to go and when I got home I thought they forgot my cream cheese! Nope, they had already spread it on my warm bagel for me! And boy they were generous!
It tasted just like french toast! The powdered sugar on top and the egg wash was perfect and the maple cream cheese put this over the top!
The banana bagel was nice and crisp! It had a great banana flavor of course and the touch on cinnamon on top was perfect! I also got maple cream cheese with it!
They also sell fresh made banana nut bread by the slice! So, of course I had to get one as well! It was so delicious like my mom had just made it!
And to top it all off, the vanilla cupcake-flavored coffee! It was rich and sweet and paired perfectly with the bagels and banana nut bread!

Once again I ordered too much but it was well worth it!
