Disneyland in 360 with the Samsung Gear 360

Time to go into Disneyland to take photos in 360 with the Samsung Gear 360 Camera! Still photos in the park will never be the same! This is just a field test but I hope you enjoy the photos!

Here is the Disneyland Esplanade located between both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. I would have taken the photo in the center of the area but as you can see it was blocked off for some repair work.

This photo came out a bit crooked but here we are in front of the Floral Mickey, the entrance into Disneyland.

We made our way to The Hub where The Partners Statue is. The Hub is the spoke of the wheel the heads off into the various lands in Disneyland.

We are now in front of one of the most photographed locations on the planet, Sleeping Beauty Castle. Enjoy the view of the castle and the surrounding area.

And we end this field test in the heart of Fantasyland.

If you have a VR headset, these photos will make you feel like you are in the park. I hope you enjoyed the field test and will look forward to more 360 photos soon! If you have any 360 photos in Disneyland that you would like to see then please let me know in the comments below.

Walt and Mickey Partners Statue Captured in Prisma

As the Holidays come to a close at The Disneyland Resort, here is one of my favorite shots that I ran through Prisma of The Partners Statue with Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up in Holiday splendor!

Do you use the Prisma app? Are there any places in Disneyland that you would like me to take a photo of and run it through one of the Prisma filters? Let me know in the comments below!

Disneyland and DCA in 360 with the Samsung Gear 360 Camera

Every since Samsung announced their venture into the world of Virtual Reality (VR), I was excited to see what products they were going to offer. I got the Samsung S7edge that came with the VR Headset. I loved the content that was available but was floored when Samsung announced the Gear 360 Camera! I took the Gear 360 Camera to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on December 23rd and 24th to field test it.

The camera is easy to use and to pair with my phone and got a lot of looks from people walking around me, But let's get to the content that I shot! Below you will find two examples from Disneyland and two examples from Disney California Adventure! Use your mouse on the photo to move around and see what we captured!

This first 360 photo is the main entrance into the park. The famous Floral Mickey Mouse greets you to Disneyland. As Walt said that Mickey was a personification of him (Walt voiced Mickey in the early days) that the Floral Mickey is a personal greet by Walt himself to his park.

The next image is of the one of the most photographed locations on earth, Sleeping Beauty Castle! The castle was kept small because European castles were meant to be large and imposing, Walt didn't want that for his castle. I find that Disneyland's castle is the most charming castle of all.

Next, we move across the esplanade into Disney California Adventure and into the popular Cars Land, based off the hit Pixar film Cars! We are standing in the heart of Cars Land, right below the only light signal in the area. This land feels as if the animated film was actually shot on location here.

Lastly, we have one of my favorite locations in Disney California Adventure. This is the bridge next to Grizzly River Run that takes you past Frog Jump Falls. Take a look around the area and you feel as if you are somewhere in the high Sierras.

I hope you enjoyed this field test of the Samsung Gear 360 Camera and the 360 photos that we took. If you have any suggestions of other areas of the parks that you would like to see please let me know in the comments below! Next up will be some short video testing in the parks in the coming weeks!

Disney Parks Metal Earth Collection available at Disneyland

I love the Metal Earth series and loved when they started carrying the Star Wars ones in Disneyland. I had always hoped they would start a Disney Parks series and they have! I found these in Disneyana on Main Street in Disneyland!

The Metal Earth series features sheets of metal that you bend and carefully put together to make stunning recreations of vehicles and buildings. Take a look at Space Mountain.

The Haunted Mansion is from the Magic Kingdom and not Disneyland. Remember it is a Disney Parks Collection and not just a Disneyland Resort Collection. Maybe we will get our mansion in the future!

I love the hearse from Haunted Mansion and the locomotive.

The Black Pearl is stunning. Sorry I didn't get a better picture of the monorail behind it.

Cinderella's Carriage is beautiful!

Cinderella's Castle from Walt Disney World.

Mickey's Funwheel looks awesome!

Sleeping Beauty Castle is where we end our look at the Metal Earth Disney Parks Collection. You can find all of these at Disneyana on Main Street.

Cost: 1 for $16.99 plus tax or 4 for $49.99 plus tax

Sasaki Time's Dapper Tour of Walt Disney's Disneyland! Fantasyland!

Our Dapper Day Tour of Walt Disney's Disneyland continues in perhaps the happiest land of them all, Fantasyland! Here we are standing on the other side of Sleeping Beauty Castle. This is probably the least photographed side of the castle but the top half of the castle is the original front of the castle. According to Disney Legend, the top was flipped around and when Walt saw it, he loved it and the castle was built this way.

I love this shot! You can see all the way down Main Street USA to the train station! The use of black and white here really takes you back to 1955! Once again thank you to my friend Kevin for these great photos!

Even though Dumbo did not open in Fantasyland until three months, you cannot imagine Fantasyland without this attraction! I love that they have this Dumbo vehicle off to the side to take photos with.

Just enjoying another perfect day at Disneyland!

Taking a spin on the Mad T Party. Another classic Fantasyland attraction and another attraction with a photo vehicle.

The only attraction with the word "ride" in it! Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is another attraction with a photo vehicle in front of it! Great for taking your time to set up a great photo!

Time to ride my favorite attraction in Fantasyland, King Arthur's Carousel!

How can you not be happy to be riding one of the horses on the carousel?

Kristen is also riding the most special horse on the entire carousel. Do you know what makes this particular horse special?

Kristen is riding on top of Jingles, the lead horse of the carousel, named for her ornate carvings and beautiful straps of jingle bells hanging from her saddle and cantle. During the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland, Jingles was dedicated as the Julie Andrews horse.

A closer look at the saddle shows Mary Poppins' boots, Julie's initials, a flying silhouette of Mary Poppins and the number"50" representing Disneyland's 50th Anniversary!

Hope you enjoyed our Dapper look at Fantasyland! Look for more in this photo series as we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Disneyland!

Sasaki Time's Dapper Tour of Walt Disney's Disneyland! Main Street USA!

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Disneyland, I thought it would be a fun idea to take a look at the park in black and white as if it were 1955. So with that idea, my friend Kristen and my friend Kevin, who was our photographer for the day, headed out into Disneyland.

The first thing you see as you enter the park is of course the famous Floral Mickey. Walt always said that Mickey was a representation of him and I always see the Floral Mickey as Walt's personal greeting to all of us when we enter the park. The floral Mickey was there to greet you on Opening Day.

Heading over to the Disneyland Fire Department to visit the fire wagon which was out and about on Opening Day but has since been retired and sued as a photo op here. Above of course is Walt's apartment. Walt himself stayed here at the park with friends and family. Walt would be seen walking out in his park early in the morning.

Maybe one day the fire wagon could be taken out for a trip up and down Main Street again but the sheer size of this horse-drawn vehicle makes this highly unlikely.

We then headed over to Town Square where the dedication plaque is. On Opening Day, Walt welcomed everyone to this happy place.

A few steps away we jumped on the horse-drawn trolley, a great throw-back to a time when real horse power took us through town.

And then we headed to the front of the vehicle to take a photo with a real engine! Always ask the Cast Member if it is alright to take a photo with the horse. Not all of the horses are photogenic and we were also asked not to touch the horse.

A quick look around Town Square brought us to another fire wagon. This one powered by fuel.

As we started to head up Main Street, I stopped to take a photo underneath the window dedicated to Walt's father Elias. Walt took a similar photo here and all the windows with a dedication are to the men and women that helped contribute in some shape or fashion to Disneyland.

Across the street, Kristen and I stopped to take a photo with the Cigar Store Indian. On Opening Day the, the building behind the Indian was the location of the Disneyland Tobacco Store.

Crossing the street again, we find the Carnation Cafe, one of our favorite places to eat! I recommend the Mickey waffles for breakfast and the fried pickles and the meatloaf for lunch or for dinner!

Further up the street and once again looking both ways before we cross the street we find this fantastic porch. Believe it or not but on Opening Day this was the home of the Intimate Apparel Shop. The host was the Wizard of Bras and yes, you could purchase a corset or bra while in the park.

Now the porch is a welcomed place to sit and people watch or take in the parade.

As we finally make it to the end of the street we run into Sleeping Beauty Castle, one of the most photographed places on the planet. As the castle gets ready for the 60th Anniversary, we end our look at Main Street USA.

We continue our Dapper Tour of Disneyland in future installments! I hope you join us and learn more about the park as it celebrates it's 60th Anniversary!

Walking In Walt's Footsteps at Disneyland! Disneyland 60th Anniversary Photo Series from Sasaki Time!

Here I am recreating one of my favorite photos ever taken of Walt Disney in his beloved Magic Kingdom! I can imagine Walt walking through his park before opening and enjoying the calm morning. I also imagine that he is deep in thought about what he should put in next. If Walt could only see the empire that his small company is today!

Happy 60th Anniversary to Disneyland! My favorite place on earth!

Thanks to my talented friend Kevin Yoneda for the photo!

Photo Report from the First Day of The Year in The Disneyland Resort!

Starting 2015 off at my favorite place on earth! Let's take a look around both Disney California Adventure and then over at Disneyland on this first day of January!

Just a picture perfect day at Grizzly River Run! I love the pelton wheel!
Some fun new Grizzly River Run merchandise is here! I love this sipper mug!
I may need to get this throw!
Great new Grizzly tshirt!
Great new sweatshirt! Happy to see area specific merchandise making its return!
Cars racing through Radiator Springs!
This area is still my favorite place to take photos!
Over at Disneyland my friend Charlotte and I had to meet the big cheese himself! Charlotte wanted Mickey to see her new sweater. Her mom made it for her! Mickey was very impressed!
Having my first Starbucks of the new year! Of course I made a hack of pumpkin juice! So refreshing to enjoy in the park!
Then it was off to the kingdom of Arendelle on the Storybook Canal Boats.
A ship has arrived in the harbor.
Saying farewell to the kingdom.
YOO HOO there is a trading post!
Over in Fantasyland the Queen is not happy. There must have been too much noise the night before.
Olaf is still hanging around even though Anna and Elsa have moved to DCA for Frozen Fun!
Getting one last look at the snow on the castle.
Just another beautiful day at Disneyland. I can never get enough of the roses and the castle.
Picture perfect! Can't wait to see the enhancements to the castle for the 60th!
Now it's time to sit down for one of my favorite meals in the park. The broasted chicken at the Plaza Inn is still the best theme park chicken around!
One last time for one of my favorite desserts. The Yule Log is a chocolate mocha masterpiece. Until next holiday season my friend!

Hope you enjoyed a quick look around the resort! Look for more photos throughout the year. Feel free to let me know what photos you would like to see and even what stories in the parks you would like to see me cover in the comments below!

Happy New Year everyone!
