Do You Have What It Takes To Become A Mythbuster? Check Out The Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition!

I love the Discovery Science Center! I am just a big kid and I look forward to every visit here! This is a fantastic place to take your kids if you are in the Disneyland area. And if you are in the area between now and September 7, 2014 you can check out the outstanding Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition!

If you are not familiar with the Mythbusters, well they put myths such as Hollywood stunts, urban legends and other things that you might think are true to the test using scientific principles.

Sasaki Time was invited to check out the exhibit a few days before it opened to the public!
As you can see I totally geeked out and came dressed up for the event! Yes, I have my own safety vest and hardhat! Don't you?
There are tons of props that have come directly from the show!
Here I am with Buster, the amazing test dummy that you see getting damaged time and time again in the various experiments on the show!
I was terrified to find one of my favorite props here!
There are so many hands-on myths to try out for yourself! My friends and I tried every single one! This is one I couldn't wait to try out for myself!
You can just see the focus on my face! Sadly I didn't pull off the stunt flawlessly!
But my friend Cesar did the stunt perfectly!
One of my favorite myths is here! The Killer Card Toss! Can you toss a playing card with so much force that it could kill a person?
There are even tips on how to toss the playing card! But this myth was actually shown to be busted! You cannot throw a playing card hard enough to kill a person! Thank goodness!
This was another awesome myth I put to the test! Can I change into my superhero suit in a telephone booth in under a minute?
Here we go!
I failed this one as well! But saw several people able to do it well under the time limit!
I had to try out the phone book swing! I needed to see if my weight could be held up by phone books!
Success! Who knew that phone books were so strong?
Cesar then volunteered for the stage show! Sadly he didn't have the fastest reflexes! Patty won and check out the video below to see how they put her quick reflexes to the test!

I think Cesar was pretty happy that he didn't have to do this!

There are a ton more myths to try out and this is an exhibit you do not want to miss! The science involved is intriguing and so much fun for kids and adults alike! The minimal add-on price to check out the Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition is more than worth your money!

The exhibit runs until September 7, 2014!

Discovery Science Center Hosts MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition June 14, 2014 – September 7, 2014

Discovery Science Center Hosts MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition
The Cube offers visitors the chance to become a MythBuster during the blockbuster exhibit of the summer – June 14 – September 7, 2014; tickets now on sale
SANTA ANA, Calif. (May 20, 2014) – Discovery Channel’s Emmy®-nominated series comes to life to uncover truths behind popular myths by mixing scientific method with gleeful curiosity and old-fashioned ingenuity in MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition, which makes its way to Discovery Science Center beginning June 14, 2014 – September 7, 2014.
The exhibition creates hands-on, interactive experiences for guests of all ages by combining popular scientific facts with innovative, family-friendly displays. In MythBusters, co-hosts Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara take scientific investigation to exciting new levels by proving or exploding myths using their highly experimental approach and extensive backgrounds in special effects. Savage and Hyneman were heavily involved throughout the development of the exhibition to ensure guests experience a true MythBusting encounter.

"It's exciting to see fans take on some of our favorite experiments from the show while drawing their own conclusions and data," said Savage."Although they are tackling the same myths and questions, each guest can have a unique experience within the exhibit."

"We hope people have fun at the exhibit and get a sense of what it is like doing the show." added Hyneman.
Guests of Discovery Science Center will learn about myths, the MythBusters and what experimenting is all about by participating in a series of fun, hands-on experiences and live demonstrations. Experiments cover topics such as flight, friction, gravity, speed and combustion. The exhibition showcases:

Blueprint Room – Based on the real-life operations room of the MythBusters’ iconic set, this room acts as an introduction to MythBusting and is filled with gadgets, props, video and, of course, blueprints used by the hosts to explore myths on the show.
* Workshop – This is the place where guests turn into investigators and use real science to test myths.  Guest discover whether they get more wet running versus walking in the rain and find out if toast really does always land buttered-side down.
* Live MythBusters Demonstration Stage – Here guests have the opportunity to view and participate in live science demonstrations that dissect myths with the help of a team of energetic MythBusting facilitators.

“This exhibit is pure science at its core,” said Joe Adams, president of Discovery Science Center. “One of our cornerstone initiatives here at the Science Center is S.T.E.M. proficiency and this exhibit allows guests to experiment, hypothesize, and measure results by engaging and using their hands!”

Doors open to the public on June 14, 2014MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition is currently $10 per person plus general admission fees. Discounted tickets are available for a limited time. Tickets can be purchased at the Science Center or online at www.discoverycube.org. General admission prices are as follows: adult ($16.95), senior ($12.95), and children ages 3-14 ($12.95). BubbleFest 2014 at the Discovery Science Center

That's right it is time for Bubblefest once again! Hard to believe that another year has come and gone and that it is the 18th year of Bubblefest!

This year with the start of the massive expansion to the Discovery Science Center, Bubblefest is located on the north parking lot close to the Main Place Mall. It is actually easier to park on the mall side and cross the street to Bubblefest!
Good crowd right at opening!
Lots of great things for kids and adults to do and learn about the science of bubbles!
My friend Rachelle brought her Godson Owen to experience Bubblefest! Owen is working hard and learning about bubbles!
I love how it breaks everything down so everyone can understand various scientific principles surrounding bubbles and various conditions!
Rachelle showing off her awesome bubble making skills!
Rachelle and Owen making bubbles together.
One of my favorite things are the Chicken Idol chickens. Owen and Rachelle are listening to the chickens tell jokes and sing songs.
On site are two food trucks to help with any hunger issues you have while enjoying the bubbles! On opening day there was the CaliFusion Truck!
There was also Ninjas With Attitude!
Plus, Maui Wowi is back again with fresh fruit smoothies and coffee!
New this year is the solar fountain!
Follow the instructions and see if you can trigger the surprise feature!
As you can see there is quite the crowd!
Lots of families out and about!

But the can't miss highlight is the Mega Bubblefest Laser Show! I have seen this show three times and I look forward to this show every single year!
Let's warm up the crowd and go over some ground rules!
The show is put on by Deni Yang and he makes bubbles spin and dance and do some cool things that you never thought a bubble could do before!

Kids are invited to a special floor seating area in front of the stage to get up close and personal with the bubbles!
Here are some highlights from the show!

Smoke filled bubbles look so cool in the air and when they finally pop.
Deni even asks for a couple of brave volunteers to come up!
Bubbles within bubbles!
More smoke filled bubbles!
Bubble artistry in motion!
The finale with lasers and millions of bubbles!

Bubblefest is always my most eagerly anticipated event of the year at the Discovery Science Center! It is a great way for kids and adults to spend the day together! It is such an anticipated event that I highly recommend to get there early especially if your kids want to try everything!

Bubblefest runs now until April 20th!

This toy horse display is truly a work of art!

Santa was on hand! Lil Oishi had to get a photo with him!

On paper I had a good idea!
As you can see it was way too heavy for the race! Well there is always next year!
