Finding the Perfect Prop for Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park: Part Two

Recently, Shannon Swanson posted part one of this video series with Brandon Kleyla, set decorator for Walt Disney Imagineering, revealing some of the ways he created the window displays on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park. In part two we go inside the shops to learn more about the backstories of the shop owners. Brandon told Shannon that he and his team spent a year shopping, wheeling and dealing to find just the right items to bring these stories to life. He also told her to keep coming back because guests often discover new treasures with each visit to Buena Vista Street.

Buena Vista Street Hidden Details: Horse Riding Lessons!

The Dubrock Riding Academy was where Walt and Roy played polo! Gil Proctor was a polo expert that gave lessons and lectures on polo to Walt and the guys at the Studio! Ruthie Thompson worked at the Dubrock Riding Academy where Walt offered her a job in the Ink & Paint Department. Ruthie had great skill at guiding camera movement for animated films.She became the supervisor of the Scene Planning department at The Walt Disney Studios. There, she helped to establish the camera mechanics used to photograph animated scenes and background art onto film.Ruthie was named a Disney Legend in 2000.

Nice tribute to Adriana Casoletti, the voice of Snow White! The phone number is also a reference to the year that Snow White came out!

You have seen the model of Rock Candy Mountain in the window of Trolley Treats but have you seen the original concept art for it?
Rock Candy Mountain was going to be part of Storybook Land Canal Boats. Imagineer and Disney Legend Claude Coats who worked on concept art for the mountain back in 1957.
