Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot Joins “Ralph Breaks the Internet” Voice Cast

Ralph and Vanellope encounter Shank and her unusual cohorts when they venture to the internet in search of a replacement part for Vanellope’s game, Sugar Rush. Shank, a tough-as-nails street racer, takes her role and her tricked-out car very seriously and doesn’t like to lose. When Vanellope finds herself in a street race with Shank, her Sugar Rush driving skills are put to the test—and Shank is impressed. “She is the coolest character in this world of Slaughter Race,” said director Rich Moore. “Shank’s lived a lot, she’s seen a lot, yet she’s got nothing but kindness in her heart—that’s the duality of that character.”

Said Gadot, “Shank is amazing at driving cars and has this bad-girl vibe to her. But as the movie goes on you realize how fun, wise and warm she really is on the inside, which is what I like most about her.”

According to director/writer Phil Johnston, Gadot adds extraordinary dimension to the character. “There's so much texture to her voice and so much living in her voice,” he said. “If Ralph is Vanellope's big-brother figure, we wanted a big-sister figure. We wanted someone that Vanellope would look up to, and Gal is definitely someone kids—and a lot of adults I know—aspire to emulate. I can't imagine anyone else embodying that part.”

Shank’s approach to racing—and life in general—opens Vanellope’s eyes to the limitless possibilities of the internet and the excitement of a new world that feels like home to her. Featuring the voices of John C. Reilly as Ralph, and Sarah Silverman as Vanellope, “Ralph Breaks the Internet” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.

Ralph Wrecks the Mobile Game Disney Crossy Road in Celebration of the Announcement 

BURBANK, Calif. (June 30, 2016) – Wreck-It Ralph is heading back to the big screen, and this time, he’s wrecking the internet. The Oscar®-nominated Walt Disney Animation Studios team from the original film is reteaming for the follow-up, including director Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “The Simpsons”) and producer Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Bolt”). Phil Johnston (writer, “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” “Cedar Rapids”) joins Moore as director and a writer on the project. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman return as the bad-guy-turned-good, Ralph, and the girl with the game-winning glitch, Vanellope von Schweetz. The untitled sequel will hit theaters—literally—on March 9, 2018.

“From the moment we started working on the first ‘Wreck-It Ralph,’ we knew there were so many possibilities with these characters,” said Moore, who has been developing it since shortly after the release of the first film, and while directing this year’s critically-acclaimed hit “Zootopia” with Byron Howard. “This time, Ralph’s wrecking wreaks havoc on the Web—as only he can do. Characters we loved in the first film are back and we are ecstatic to be working with them—and the actors who voice them—once again.”

“The world of the internet is the perfect place to send Ralph and Vanellope,” said Johnston. “The scope and scale are so vast and the possibilities for comedy are endless.”

“Ralph is a character very near and dear to my heart,” added Reilly. “I'm really looking forward to playing the big lug again. Making the first ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ was one of the most special experiences I've ever had and I'm really looking forward to bringing him back to life. So many kids I've met all over the world are excited to see him again, too. They tell me all the time!” 

When “Wreck-It Ralph” opened on Nov. 2, 2012, it turned in the highest opening weekend ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film at the time of release. Nominated for an Oscar® and Golden Globe® for best animated feature, “Wreck-It Ralph” won the PGA Award for outstanding producer of an animated theatrical motion picture as well as five Annie Awards, including best animated feature, director, cast and screenplay. The film was named best animated feature by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, earned outstanding achievement in casting for an animated feature by the Casting Society of America, and won the Kids’ Choice Award for favorite animated movie. 

DISNEY CROSSY ROAD WRECKED 

At 12 p.m. PT today, Disney’s hit mobile game, Disney Crossy Road, will be wrecked by Ralph in celebration of the announcement. As fans play through the 12 different Disney and Pixar worlds of Disney Crossy Road, Ralph may appear and ‘wreck’ part of their gameplay.

“Wreck-It Ralph has been one of the most popular worlds to play in Disney Crossy Road, so it made perfect sense to celebrate Ralph’s return by letting him go outside his world and ‘wreck’ other parts of the game,” said Chris Heatherly, SVP & GM, Disney Apps and Games. “We are big fans of the first film, as are our players, and can’t wait to see how the next chapter unfolds.”

“GIGANTIC” DATE-CHANGE

The animated feature “Gigantic,” originally announced as Disney’s March 9, 2018, release, will be released on November 21, 2018.

Wreck-It Ralph Inspired Recipe: Chocolate Shake!

Fix-It Felix - Wreck-It Ralph

"Do you have any idea what you put me through? I almost drowned in chocolate milk mix!"

What you'll need

• 1 cup chocolate ice cream
• 1/2 cup milk
• 3 to 4 tablespoons chocolate syrup

How to make it

1. In a blender, process all the ingredients until just combined. Pour into a chilled glass and serve immediately. For a thicker shake, use more ice cream. Makes about 1-1/2 cups or 1 large serving.

How to make it

1. Building Instructions: Print the building template on regular paper or cardstock and cut out the pieces.  Make folds along all dashed lines.
2. Using glue or double-sided tape, secure the building wall “A” tabs to the backs of the other building wall sides to form a box shape.
3. Attach the “Building Top” to the four “B” tabs.
4. Secure all tabs on the “Rooftop” to their corresponding panels in alphabetical order.
5. With the brown side of the “Rooftop Bottom” facing down, secure the "K" tabs to the inside of the “Rooftop.”
6. Place the Rooftop on top of the building. For a longer lasting printable, use decoupage glue for this step.
7. Secure all tabs on the “Elevator Shaft” to their corresponding panels in alphabetical order.
8. Attach the “Elevator Shaft” to the “Rooftop” where indicated on the “Rooftop” with a light brown square.
9. Character Instructions: Print the template on regular paper or cardstock and cut out the pieces.
10. For each character, fold the dashed lines away from you. Fold the solid lines at the bottom of the character and the character outline toward you. When all folds have been made, secure the front and back of the character together using glue or double-sided tape. You should find that you’ve created a stand for the character. Repeat this step with the remaining characters.

How to make it

1. Print the template on regular paper or cardstock and cut out the pieces. Make folds along all dashed lines. Make sure you don’t miss the dashed lines running through the front and sides of her face.
2. Cut out the square in the bottom of her head where indicated. Using glue or double-sided tape, secure tabs A through E on the head to their corresponding panels in alphabetical order. Secure the F tabs to the back of their corresponding panels to close the back of her head. Secure the G tabs to close the top back part of her head. Secure the H tabs to their corresponding panels to close off the top of her head. Complete the shape of the head by securing the I tabs to their corresponding panels.
3. For the body, make two cuts along the solid brown lines between the tabs at her skirt where indicated. Form the shape of the torso and secure the A tab to its corresponding panel. Secure the B tabs to the inside panels of the torso. Attach the C tabs on the skirt to the corresponding C tabs on the bottom of her torso. Complete the shape of her skirt with the D tab.
4. Carefully curl each leg into a tube and secure the tab to the inside of the leg. You can use a pen to help get a smooth curl and to hold the tab in place while the glue dries. Secure each leg to the bottom of the torso.
5. Slip the head onto the neck of the torso. You may need to glue it into place once you have a proper fit.
6. Fold the hood in half and secure the two sides together. Attach the hood to her back where indicated.
7. Fold each arm in half and secure so the design is two-sided. Fold the tab back and use it to attach each arm to the side of the body where indicated with a light green triangle.
8. Fold each ear in half and secure so the design is two-sided.  Butterfly the tabs outward and use them to attach the ears to the head where indicated with a faint rectangle.
9. Fold the ponytail in half so the design is two-sided. Butterfly the tabs outward and use them to attach the ponytail to her head.

How to make it

1. Print the template on regular paper or cardstock and cut out the pieces.  Make folds along all dashed lines.
2. Using glue or double-sided tape, secure all tabs on the head to their corresponding panels in alphabetical order. Complete the shape of the head with the L tab.
3. Fold each ear in half along the center dashed line and secure so the design is two-sided. Butterfly the tabs outward and use them to attach the ears to the sides of the head.
4. Secure all tabs on the torso to their corresponding panels in alphabetical order. Complete the shape of the torso with the H tab.
5. Attach the head to the torso.
6. Using glue or double-sided tape, secure tabs A through I on the pants to their corresponding panels in alphabetical order. The J tabs will be used to attach the pants to the torso in step 9.
7. Fold the paper at the vertical dashed lines on Piece A toward you. Fold the blue tabs away from you. Secure the blue tabs to the inseam of the pants.
8. Secure all tabs on each foot in alphabetical order. Use the four remaining N tabs to attach each foot to the inside of the opening at the bottom of the corresponding pant leg.
9. Attach the pants to the torso using the four J tabs on the pants.
10. Secure tabs A through D on each arm in alphabetical order. The E tabs will be used to attach each arm to the torso in step 12. 
11. Secure tabs A through N on each hand to their corresponding panels in alphabetical order. Use the four remaining O tabs to attach the hand to the arm.
12. Attach the completed arm to the torso using the four E tabs on the arm.

The second clip features Ralph and Dunderson hanging out in the new game. While everything seems to be dancing and jacuzzis, Ralph realizes that it's time to leave.
