Apple Sage Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fresh sage leaves
  • 2 ounces Calvados apple brandy
  • 1/2 ounce sage simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Fee’s Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters (or Angostura, if you can't find the Fee's)
  • Apple slice, for garnish

Procedures

  1. Make the simple syrup: Add sugar and water to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. When sugar dissolves, remove from heat. Add sage leaves and stir. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain into a jar (discard sage leaves) and refrigerate. Will keep for one month.

  2. Add apple brandy, sage simple syrup, and bitters to an Old Fashioned glass. Fill with ice, and stir to combine. Garnish with apple slice.
