Apple Bloody Splatter Cocktail Recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces unfiltered apple juice or apple cider
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed juice from 1 orange
  • 1 ounce bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce Averna
  • 1 egg white
  • Garnish: Rhubarb syrup or pomegranate molasses (see notes)

Procedures

  1. Combine apple juice, orange juice, bourbon, Averna and egg white in shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 10 seconds to emulsify egg white.

  2. Add ice and shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into serving glass. Drizzle with rhubarb syrup and serve.

Note: the cocktail is spattered with a rhubarb syrup. I bought mine in a specialty store, but the syrup is easy to make at home if so desired.) Drip the syrup along the rim of the glass for a bloody effect suitable for Halloween. You can also drizzle with pomegranate molasses if preferred.
