Get free Angels stuff at UCI blood drive

If you’re feeling particularly warm and fuzzy toward the geographically challenged Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball team right now, or you know someone who is, or maybe you just want to help people, then here’s what you can do:
Donate blood in December  at the bloodmobile set up at the Big Red Helmet at Anaheim Stadium, and they’ll give you one of three pieces of Angels memorabilia as a gift.
Plus, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win eight Angels tickets for the 2012 season.
Not to mention that you’ll be helping accident victims, sick people and babies in the summer when blood supplies traditionally run low at the UCI Medical Center.

You can pick one of these three items as your thank-you gift:
Here’s the full info I got in an email today:
The UC Irvine Blood Donor Center is holding two blood drives this December at Angel Stadium to help replenish its supply. Blood is always needed for patients at UC Irvine Medical Center, especially during the holidays when blood shortages typically occur. Your donation could potentially save a life this holiday season.
Appointments are limited, so please go online today to make your appointment. If you have any questions, contact us at donateblood@uci.edu or 714.456.5064.
The UC Irvine bloodmobile will be parked near the big red caps. Enter the stadium parking lot from Orangewood Ave.
  • Tuesday, December 20, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 29, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.
As a sign of our appreciation, all blood donors will receive their choice of one of the three Angels memorabilia. In addition, you will be entered into a drawing to win eight game tickets to the Angels 2012 season.

You have to be able to spend 45 minutes or so in Anaheim on the day you donate.
Individuals can only donate once every 56 days. You must be at least 17 years old to donate. There are other rules about who can donate, check the website for more specifics.
Please complete and submit the online form to request a date and time to donate. A representative from the blood donor center will contact you to confirm your donation appointment.
